First new thread in quite some time!

Moretsu Pirates looks interesting, as well as Another. I can't say much about Nisemonogatari, as I haven't seen Bakemonogatari as of yet. o_o

I think you'd like Bakemonogatari but then again, it's one of those shows that everyone knows about but for some reason or another isn't licensed here in the States. This season, there's a lot I want to see, but I usually wait until the shows are done and then marathon them. It helps me remember what I'm actually watching!

Nisemonogatari, Brave 10, Moretsu, Another, and The Knight in the Area (worst English name ever!) look decent enough. I'm a sucker for sports/game series and I'm waiting to watch all of Chihayafuru because I hear it's very good!

The Knight in the area....XD
That is a pretty bad name!

I've recently started watching the first season of Higurashi again...since something weird happened with the license. I'm just watching it until another company picks it up. I would love to have those DVDs. Apparently they didn't sell when they were first released...

Funny enough, I've been watching Higurashi lately too.

That's odd!

I came back to Higurashi after watching Ookami Kakushi. Now in between I'm watching the light and fluffy Da Capo to balance out the darkness of the other series.

I also watched the first episode of Brave 10. It was good enough to make feel that I should watch it some more. The voice acting cast in it is amazing!

I've heard good things about it. Seems like the type of series I wouldn't usually get excited about, but maybe it's worth a try!

I'm on episode 12 of Higurashi...It's just as good as I remember. :D
I got pretty far in the first season like 2 years ago before I stopped watching. I know I definitely saw up to the...Shion...nail...scene, but I don't remember much after that.

I'm hoping another company will pick this up...As well as Kai and Umineko.

Brave 10 is pretty sappy but again, the cast is amazing and I'm literally at a point where I will watch anything if it has a good lineup of voice actors. Another example is Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas (it literally has everyone!).

I've made it about halfway through Higuarshi myself but have been continually enraptured with various other shows and haven't finished it yet. I did just finish the second season of Hell Girl though and it was quite depressing but somehow made me enjoy the series that much more.

Sappy? Sappy?? Nothing is more sappy than these harem shows I'm watching! XD

As for Higurashi, I've finished the first season. I feel like the beginning arcs were really suspenseful and interesting, but as the story went on and you "found out" more, it just kind of got stupid. -__-'

I'm pretty picky about what I watch but even if I know a show is corny, sappy, cliched or whatever you want to call it, that sometimes won't stop me from watching it.

I thought the same thing about Higuarshi because they're having this tournament of psychological anime in the anime forum and nearly everyone voted for it. Yet when I finished it, I wasn't all that impressed by it. I'll continue watching the subsequent seasons but I still think there are a lot of more unique and enlightening shows out there.

Interesting.

When I first started Higurashi 2 or 3 years ago, I was extremely impressed by the storyline. I thought the suspense was captivating, especially the mysterious way the different arcs are portrayed. I never finished it then, but I went back (as you know) and started from episode 1. I just didn't get the same feeling...Just not satisfying.

Yeah, I liked the different narratives and viewpoints with each arc but the ending of the last Atonement arc just felt meaningless. Though, I have heard that the second season clears up quite a bit so I'll just have to wait and see.

I actually think I am going to watch Kai...after all...
It gets really high ratings. I'm glad they tone down the violence in the second season though.

I'm hoping everything gets answered. ^_^

I think I will watch it sometime soon but as usual, there are plenty of other shows I need to watch as well.

Anyway, I can't remember if I already mentioned Sakamichi no Apollon (Kids on the Slope) but nonetheless it deserves even more fanfare. It reunites Shinichiro Watanabe from Cowboy Bebop/Samurai Champloo and Yoko Kanno and it looks fucking awesome!

It starts this April and I don't think I've ever been this excited for a new series.
