It seems like many on crunchyroll have ventured into the anime world with DBZ but do any of us like it? I for one thought it was ok but everyone took too long to do anything. I would not go out of my way to watch it but if it was on TV i would sit and enjoy

Never watched the whole thing.
I am aware of how popular and influential it is though.

And Detective Conan introduced me to anime.

I could never turn my back on the things I genuinely liked. To this day I still love Dragonball Z. I also occasionally miss multi-episode fights. The show was indeed very influential and a milestone in the history of anime, so it can't be reasonably discredited either.

It isn't what got me into anime, I was in before then, but it was certainly among shows that solidified that anime can bring me action that other mediums cannot.

I would say it was one of the major things that got me into anime. I really loved it as a kid, it was awesome! Looking back at it now though.... its horrible, I would say it's actually below average in a lot of aspects, but it holds a special place in my memories because of the nostalgia from when I was a die hard fan! Lol, I feel old now talking like that...

I seriously doubt many of them got into anime because of Dragon Ball Z. Hell I doubt half of them saw it in japanese and correctly say "sai-yan" (or saiya-jin) and not "saying".

I was introduced to anime via Voltron. Since I'm not the only one, I wanna see what other animes that got people into it.

Spoken like a true fan.
I'm still a huge fan. It wasn't my first, but it got me to love anime. I still wanna watch DBZ Kai despite some of the bad reputation it gets from older fans as well as the lack of fillers (which I didn't mind but they can tax the time for new viewers). I personally loved the Saiyan Saga fillers...'cause they revolved around my fav characters (mainly Goku, Gohan, and Piccolo).

Jump's Big 3 and its fans especially those under 15-16 should be forever indebted to the Dragonball series (along with Yu Yu Hakusho and Hunter X Hunter) even if they didn't grew up on it. At least my awesome, soon-to-be 11 year old brother LOVES Kai.

Well, the first anime I watched seriously was Sailor Moon, but DBZ was right after that. But when I noticed that there was a certain similarity of style between the two, that's when I began to learn that there was an actual subgroup of animation commonly called "anime". I've been hooked ever since.

Sailor moon and dbz both brought me into the world of anime. I loved them both despite I think they could have done some things differently.

Gosh DBZ... nostalgia all the way. I remember watching it with my cousin and insulting it because I was sure Frieza was a girl. "Sounds like a girl, and she's wearing makeup!" I'd point out with my ten year old remarks, encouraging my younger cousins in the pointing and laughing. Then that saga ended and Trunks showed up on the screen and well... instant fangirldom. From there I learned what anime was and my interest spread to Naruto.

.... Now that I think about it, I blame all my anime craze on my older cousin.

The dragonball series is amazing. Watched all of them (original, z, gt) multiple times (incl movies/ova's). And i'm still finding it awesomeness now, it's some kind of ''guilty pleasure'' i guess. Gohan vs Cell is shounen epicness.
