I think a lot of the reboots are to make a new version of the anime closer to the manga. Unless I'm mistaken, Trigun was faithful to the manga. Also, while it became popular in the US and Canada in its day, I don't believe it has as large a follow in Japan.

^ This.
Trigun has more fan base in North America compared to the fan base in Japan. Although it is possible because they did make Badlands Rumble awhile ago. It certainly would be interesting if they made an adaptation of Trigun : The Maximum. |

I think yes put Vash back in the spotlight for a change he might be one of the most comical yet serious characters in anime

I don't understand why there should be a reboot of Trigun. It was a great show.

If they did a reboot of this series, I can only hope that they make up their minds about the genre. As a comedy it was awesome, as a drama it kinda sucked.

The original was good enough. it was good but not good enough, its like FMA and Brotherhood. brotherhood was considered to be better. the manga artist himself said he hated how it ended. he was forced to end the manga half way through, basically around the part when his twin was introduced is where he had to end the series. he made a new manga to continue it. the implied part of wolf dieing, is reverse meaning he lives. because him dieing doesn't make the series any better. there was even a movie made of the new manga series. but honestly i doubt it would happen if there was no announcement yet after the movie. hunter x hunter died for stupid reasons bringing it into ova series but it still continued. its popularity is in the top five, but instead of trying to continue it on the slow progress of the manga itself the did the remake to mainly appease fans. which i don't like to much. everything after the second exam didn't have a strong impression. all of the amazing parts from the previous series was changed. if anything for trigun, to remake the last episode and continue on from there. |

Honestly I do like the idea of a reboot, but I believe that Trigun is just stands out as it should be. I would definitely be on the ground should they want to do a continuation of the story.
