I've been mistaken for Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Indian, Mexican, Guamanian, Hawaiian, Portuguese, even Arab and also Brazilian. Even other Filipinos ask me if I'm one of these other nationalities.

yeah, but i think it's cause i 'act' nerdy or something. normally filipinos here in america are "cool" or they know how to speak tagalog. annnndddd i only understand bits here and there.
i also think it's cause i do my makeup differently? to be honest i think i look pretty filipino but i notice most filipinas use a lot more eye makeup (which looks good on them, just not me for some reason).
i don't dislike the way i look but when i walk around with my kid (who looks super japanese, pale skin, too) people don't think i'm her mother. like, they ask, 'oh you babysitting today?' or 'is she your sister?'

Too many Times I've been mistaken as a Mexican because of the loss of Southeastern Asians where I live.
3/4 of the time I am called Mexican, 1/4th I am called Chinese.
However, I was surprised when one day a guy in my student council asked if I was Filipino, and I was like. FINALLY, SOMEONE WHO UNDERSTANDS! However, do not be mistaken, I may not have Mexican Blood, but I have bits of Spanish in me, Also a Small but better amount of Chinese. And about Half of the time you spend with me you might notice that my eyes can become really small and "Chinese" like. But, the community these days accept me as "Normal." America has developed a strange view on people...I also have a bit of an English Accent(Blended in with a slight Asian way of talking)

what I used to be young and had fair complexion, they mistake me for chinese. It can't be helped my father's side had chinese ancestors.
when I started getting more of a natural filipino tan, someone mistook me as hispanic. But I can't blame them, mother's side ancestors are filipino-hispanic. :x

I have a lot of incidents where people from different ethnicity speak in their language which I can't understand. Probably Chinese, Japanese, Spanish and Thai...
