These aren't animes, but I don't like these either
Homestuck
My Little Pony

I basically don't like generic animes. It has nothing to do with how popular they are, either. If I don't like the storyline, then I'm not gonna keep watching it. *shrugs*

Could you possibly identify some of the common features of these anime that perhaps cause you to think of them as generic? What I am interested in here is why, and what specific aspects annoy. I don't really want to talk about specific anime as much as themes in those animes.

Alrighty, here's my list:

1. Melancholy's THE ENDLESS EIGHT. my slow and imminent death while watching those was also ENDLESS
2. Character names that occur in most animes. Please, something new.
3. The same old, two dimensional male lead in harem anime. He is always the same. ALWAYS.
4. At times, it's good, but in others not so much- abnormally high voices.
5. Good story, but bad animation.
6. Pokemon- kids fighting cute animals until they pass out *_*
7. Bad dubbing/fansubbing.

TOTAL FACE PALM

Totally, Full Metal Allcamist SUCKED.

Now, on the other hand...Full Metal Alchemist was bloody brilliant.

In regards to the topic at hand...the whole idea of Tsundere can get a little boring. There are some good tsundere type characters, but for the most part you can identify them instantly, and you can almost go through the stages of their personality warming up as a checklist. Sure, even good anime can have formulaic elements, but that's one example of how it can be ridiculous.

gatta love the troll chromie, i woulda thought you'd like kore wa zombie desuka since its randomness is almost on the same level as gintama's.
and why the hate on bleach? i have always wondered that. i understand the plots not the strongest of the top 10 animes, but it still has its strong suit.

chromie your ganna hate me for this but:
naruto: fillers. i understand that the style of comedy from the show is highly invoked into the fillers. but most of the fillers are a bit much. honestly though i actually like fillers, but i can't stand naruto. ironically one of my favorite character from naruto is from a filler- menma.

and i hate how some pretty strong anime, throws in some fanservice to attract more viewers or to increase popularity when its obviously not there thing. i don't hate on it so i wouldn't remember any anime, but everytime i see it it annoys me.

another thing i hate is how people who outlive a generation of anime, starts bashing on it.

They're just not that great animation wise, character wise, or story wise. For instance in Omamori Himari, the main guy character Yuuto is plain and boring when all of a sudden this really hot chick is all over him. And not to mention she's a neko girl. Its so unoriginal. I guess I just want an actual story that draws me in instead of an anime that's about literally nothing. It just wastes my time.

I honestly have no problem with Bleach most of the time.
You see, I was just defending One Piece.
These Bleach fans always drag One Piece to the pits
that it just kinda became a hobby of mine to counterattack.

And I couldn't care less about what others think about Naruto.
I'm not a fan of that show at all.

I wasn't fucking bashing One Piece damnit! Idk if you just be trollin' or what, but i did not say that bleach is better than one piece when it comes to fillers.

This represents and extremely LOW ration of plot to series length. Which to me makes the series

THAT is my opinion. and that is also why, if given a choice, I would rather watch a 12 episode anime
in which the plot and the characters make great strides forward in EVERY episode rather than
a 500 episode anime in which the dilute the story to such a low concentration that it is almost
beyond human perception.

That wasn't bashing?

You're contradicting yourself.
Stop it.

I was using One Piece as an example but I am talking about all long anime. I believe they are all longer than they should be. I want them to condense their plots to make them more substantial.

Yet you specifically mentioned One Piece at the beginning of your paragraph
and continued to depreciate it through your entire post.

Naruto Shippuden has less than 500 episodes.
Bleach has less than 500 episodes.
One Piece has more than 500 episodes.

HMMMMMMMMMM.......................

EDIT:

Gurl I caught that edit you made.

I apologize. I did use one piece as an example more. my point still stand though. I believe a story is better when if focuses on the story itself, and furthers the story with every episode.

I don't completely disagree with you.
But if titles such as One Piece, Naruto and Bleach were shorter and ended
with 24 or less episodes, I'm pretty sure people would complain a lot
about them being too short.

And please, One Piece barely has any fillers.
Sure its pace is slow but at least most of what's
happening in the anime are canon and not made up.

I honestly think it's moving smoothly.
I don't have any problem with it.

You are right, naruto, bleach or one piece couldnt fit in 24 eps.
I do think however, that there is a happy medium that would be
much less than what they are now, however long that may be.
I wouldnt know.

I suppose you could say that it isnt a matter of fillers but of the
pacing of the story. but really it still comes down to the same issue
then, which would be the story to length ratio. And i am not JUST
talking about one piece, ya happy? lol

Im glad you are able to enjoy one piece fully. To each their own, afrerall.

Anime that has one male protagonist and the rest would be female characters.

Anime that has girls going "gaga" over the male protagonist

do they run continuously in japan? like -every- week is a new ep? or are there big gaps between seasons?
as much as i paid attention to it, individual story arcs seemed to be pretty much 1 season long, give or take a few fillers.

anyways, the whole point of series like those is the completely over the top fighting. in order to trim up the series, you'd have to trim up the fighting... and then it would just become a bunch of lame fights with some random plot junk in the middle.

what ya -could- do if you want the appearance of the plot moving faster is stop watching for 6 months, then have a marathon catch up session. the plot really feels like it's moving along and you get to watch so much ridiculous epic fighting.
except then you have to stop watching for another 6 months or whatever, rather than just a week for the next ep.
