How i choose anime on crunchyroll is that first i search whatever genre of anime i feel like getting into at the time, then i read the summaries to see whether or not it sounds like it would be particularly interesting, i put those animes which i think would be interesting into my queue. From my queue i put in order the animes i'm most interested in first and then i check out the reviews, i also factor in how many episodes in the series. I will watch the first episode then i will watch the second even if the first in terrible, in the hope that the anime might suck me in a bit more by the next episode.

I hate judging a book by it's cover and i hate doing the same thing with anime's so i'm grateful for the fact that my computer doesn't allow me to see the posters of the anime. I've stumbled across many an excellent anime that generally might not have been as good at the start but then gets extremely good as the story unravels so I always try and push through and watch a decent part of an anime before casting in aside.

i agree with you. but i also do that with dramas as well because t.just like books some do start a bit slow and progress throughout the series. and there are really good animes where the cover posters do not look interesting.

First, I have to read the plot and what's going on in the storyline, I can't watch something if it doesn't have a goal or at least something stupid to get. Second, the main picture has to catch my eye. Something not too fancy but at least it has some creativity, that's what made me first watch My Ordinary Life!

For me I just pick one and go from there. Reading a summary doesnt always give a good "hook, line, sinker" affect to get me to watch and reviews vary alot depending on people so I just choose ones I havent watched and go from there! I think its better that way

I look at the cover first then the genre && the amount of episodes, then I read some reviews about it.

Usually, whatever other people rant about makes me want to see what to the fuss is about. But also, the way the artwork, story, and soundtrack is.
The story's a huge reason for the reason I watch what I watch. That's why shows like Fullmetal Alchemist and Blue Exorcist catch my attention with different story's without a clinque plot.
Also, the comedy and jokes have to reach my standards and make some sense.

I don't normally choose what anime to watch. I choose which anime not to watch, then try watching what's left. And it has to be a good reason not to watch something. I don't watch everything that's left though. Normally I'll watch what's available on Crunchyroll first, then consider watching other stuff if I want to watch more or if there's something in particular I want to watch. I pretty much only watch currently airing shows by the way.

I use the anime charts from http://thecartdriver.com/charts/ and trailers to make my choices, and I only decide not to watch something if there is an actual reason not to, not simply because it doesn't look good from the picture or something stupid like that. I find that this way of deciding is better as it means I sometimes watch things I wouldn't normally consider watching, which most of the time results in finding good shows to watch.

I mainly look at the cover then read the plot of it. then i look up some art and then watch the first episode of whatever anime interest me then go from there. i also check the genre of most anime before i watch it

Genre, potentially voice actors, themes via research, early synopsis, and if its a post-apocalyptic I MUST know if there are survivors and how many, there are at the end, there are some grizzly sad reasons I need to be so picky with my anime, art style can either attract or repel me if it looks unsettling.

Sometimes i judge it by cover and by the number of episodes. The more the episodes, the better the anime! If it's short, it wasn't popular. I love popular anime. Also, I watch only the first episode and then decide if I want to watch it or not.

OK, 3 step plan:

1. I read the basic premise/summary first (if interesting, I'll check out the artwork, characters)
2. Next, time to be shallow, yes I do judge an anime based on artwork (if good, continue, if bad haha dropped)
3. Finally, I check the first ep out (sometimes need to watch the 2nd ep to understand a little bit more)

If an anime passes all steps, it goes in my watchlist
