In some countries, such as America, it is very difficult to find out what your blood type is unless you are donating blood, a relative needs blood, or if you are getting married. Most Americans don't know their blood types. For those of you who do know your blood types, how exactly were you able to find them out, and what country do you live in? Please share your experiences even if they seem silly. :)

For example, if someone said: "I got my blood type by running into a wall and eventually the paramedics came and took me into the hospital to get blood after all of the blood I lost", that would be kind of funny and silly.

Even if your experience isn't that exciting, please share if you would like to.

Also, I searched in the forums for this topic and I didn't find any matches. And, I can't search this keyword in Google since there are so many results for it due to the fact that blood type is something that is expressed almost everywhere in this site as a personality trait. Please delete if duplicate.

I asked a nurse what my blood type was after she took some blood from my arm and she said that I didn't need to know.... lol. At that moment what came across my mind in disapointment was the "Okay" face. I live in America.

How did I find my blood type?

My parents told me that I was an A. I also donated my blood last week so I'll find out later if I'm a positive or negative.

What country do I live in?

USA.

What??? I thought that's something you should've known as a kid. I am AB+ and I know that because it was written in my student ID from kindergarten, so I suppose I had blood check before having memories.

When I was born since I was a twin I was the weaker one so I needed a blood transfusion from someone related to me (my older brother) and we have the same blood type which is AB+. That happened in Hong Kong but my brother told me what blood type i had when i entered middle school and I was living in Japan at the time.

I live in America and I'm not sure of my blood type. My parents said I was a B but I don't think they're sure XD

I did donate blood once though, but all they told me was they couldn't use my blood because they thought I had something

Resided in US of A a little over 6 decades. Blood type: no clue, I've never known. Curious, yes, but not enough to pay for the knowledge.

I live in the United States. True, in the U.S., blood typing is not a routine test done on the general population for no specific medical reason. I found out my blood type after donating-- it's printed on my donor card. I also typed my own blood once as part of my medical training in pathology.

I live in Australia, and found out when I received my blood donor's card (I'm type O).

Found out when I donated blood that I'm AB-. If you are too, join my CR group, called "AB-."

I'm in USA.

I'm American and I also don't know my blood type. I've never donated blood before. I should.

Eventually I think I need to have that figured out...
