Just wanted to hear everyone else's thoughts on the sudden recycling of anime tropes. I've been watching anime for a while and this lastest batch to come up through crunchyroll; specifically Listen to me I'm your dad and Ano Natsu de Matteru seem to bear a striking resemblance to Aishiteruze Baby and Please Teacher . More the latter than the former. I understand that some recycling is nessisary but I feel that at least in Ano Natsu de Matteru it's far too close for comfort as even the character make-up is almost the same.

I don't really have a problem with it because I am not sure how many anime series I've seen where the same studio will recycle the style of animation for another show. However, a case of exception is when I see KyoAni moe title because I think that studio puts too much emphasis on moe shows.

Animes really tends to have similarities with other animes. It's just they are given a certain twist to differentiate themselves from its predecessors.

I'm not surprised that why you thought Ano Natsu de Matteru reminded you of Please Teacher. The reason is that the screenwriter Kuroda Yousuke and producer Ogura Mitsutoshi were the ones who made both animes. They both decided to use character designs by Uon Taraku who did that of Please Teacher. Disclaimer: Please correct me if my information is wrong. I'm not a fan of either animes but I just saw comments when I was deciding which winter animes I would watch.

This thread is basically the same thing you're talking about but on a smaller scale of examination.
