After the removal of Jump series from Mangastream, I was wondering, would people if they had to pay a small fee actually be willing to pay for Manga e.g. Naruto?

If so, does anyone have any contacts with Viz Media etc and perhaps we could start a petition to request that they open up and create a service for those outside of US and Canada??

Just my 2 cents

If you google it, a lot of sites will come up. For example: mangareader.net, mangafox.com

I just went to MangaFox to read the latest Naruto ch., and THEY'RE saying that Naruto's been licensed, so they're no longer posting the chapters there!! Damnit, and right when they were showing Sasuke about to make his appearance again, too!!

try mangareader. I know a lot of people complain about its quality but I never really had a problem with it. It's better than nothing. Hopefully at least that one stays up ...

Mangafox got most if not all of their jump scans from mangastream so that make's since they would no longer have them. It's safe to assume they will probably hit mangareader next with a licensing blahblahblah. it's just greedy people ruining the internet like always

I think it is do to Viz switching to their new digital 'Shounen Jump Alpha' I read the Jump manga online cause there are no longer places to go and buy manga in my town (which pisses me off!) If they weren't cheap-asses, and printed this new 'Alpha' I would gladly pay for it. Hell, I'm considering paying already.

Also, try MangaReader. They still translate and put up most the jump manga. Some take longer than others though. (Edit: Ah, already suggested. lol Well, second recommendation!)

I think that's what the whole Shonen Jump Alpha is about. Viz decided to discontinue the print magazine, and has this, which is all-online. Yen Plus is the monthly online magazine from Yen Press.

So yes, there are legal ways to get chapter updates. I would do it if I liked more of the titles they offered, then it would make it worth it.

And I don't know if there are any region limitations

I'm willing to pay if I get to keep it.
I already have a subscription with JManga and I've been enjoying the books I get there, but while the Viz SJA is a pretty good price my understanding is that I don't get to keep the chapters I'm paying for. Their offer seems to be that I get to Rent to comics for a year and then they take them away from me.

For some reason that annoys me and I don't want to do it.

I know it's kind of an unreasonable objection but there you have it.
