i would go with L, i think being in prison is more than enough for a criminal.

So basically, which side are YOU on? I was on Kira's side
No joke, I prefer his sense of mentality. Those who purposely murder do not deserve the right to live. I honestly think our world would be much better if Kira actually existed.

I'm with you, brother~!

I'm for justice but totally against tyranny and peace through war. So I'm on L's side (even if I personally liked Light more).

I also can't help but notice that online, a lot of people who go for Kira just admire his murdering badassery. I just know that if he were to succeed, there would be too many assholes supporting him just because they think he's cool instead of actually wanting peace. How awful.

I don't think you can compare what Kira did to war and tyranny. An unseen unknowable force striking down murderers, rapists, ect with impunity without anyone knowing how it is being done is a lot different than the age old excuses for war.

I think I have changed my mind - I go with Light now. I reserve the right to change my mind in a month or two.

but yeah I guess I see where you are coming from with the whole "murdering badassery" over the bigger issues .... still .... I think a lot of people are just fed up with the state of the world and the violence and ugliness in it but saying "he's a badass" is a lot safer to say than that for some reason.

Edit - Yeah after typing this and reading it ...... L's side is just doesn't have the philosophical contradictions like Lights does - "I hate murderers so I'll become one!" ..... but Light is such a great character and I can see where he is coming from ...

so I choose Light and L over Near and the latter part of the series - how bout that?

I didn't pick one. But I suppose I was more on L's side.

I can understand Light's ambition as Kira, and he was a great character to watch. However, I knew when the series ended that I wanted Light to either be arrested or if need be, die in peace. I didn't hate Light, but he had to be brought to justice for his crimes. Whether he was right or wrong, that depends if you agree with the greater good mentality. Ultimately killing these criminals off is not justice, it was more like pest control for Kira. Which dehumanizes the criminals who belong in jail. I don't really think it's right myself killing them off, unless it's self defense or to save someone in danger.

In the end, I think Light went out peacefully. Jail might have been too much for Light.

L was certainly one of my favorite characters. I could agree with his opinions. I didn't want him to catch Light. Mostly because the cat and mouse chase between L and Kira was awesome. Though, I really thought L would catch him. It was a shock to see him die. He was a great detective and his successors pale in comparison.

I was on Kira's side cause I think he had a a good point to what he was doing, but now I'm on L's side cause after thinking about this made me realize even if it's a criminal it's not my place to judge them, but also I'd forgive them for what they'd done. ^^
Not sure if anyone would take the show seriously, but I did since it's a good subject to bring up XD.

Sometimes extreme measures must be taken to ensure the survival of the people. However, to behold such power within one human is and shall always be the most frightening thing this world can witness. *Note: I would support Kira, only if he changed his way of killing to something like 'Assassin's Creed'. In that game series the main character kills people who are selected by a council.*

I would support a democratic killing, but to give power to individuals can only breed Madmen.
