It's been 10 years that i've seen Dragon Ball Z for the last time, now I'm interested at watching it all over again. I know that there is a remastered and shortened version of DBZ. which is DB Kai. Would you advise me watching DBZ or DB Kai to get the best experience. Any help is appreciated.

Dragon Ball Z kai is more true to the manga no fillers and ends with cell there is no buu saga with dbz kai. if you like it straight to the point fast pace then u will like Kai if you like the fillers and more action then stick with dbz

Kai is worth watching, in my opinion. It's good in both English and Japanese. Japanese is good because the audio quality is better (in the original, the quality of the recordings sound weren't very good and they had a hiss to them) and all the returning actors do great jobs reprising their roles. Masako Nozawa, in particular, does a better job doing Goku in my opinion. The English dub is worth watching because FUNimation does a much better job dubbing the series, and the script is more accurate. You'll have to deal with the recasts that they do, but they are for the better.

Overall, go watch Kai.

I liked how they redid the voices in Kai.

Only problems I have with Kai is some of the better filler was removed, and that they did stop with the Cell games. The whole Great Sayaman/Videl arc was one of my favorites, then the whole Buu arc fight was far more interesting to me than most anything else in the series. To tell the truth I sorta got sick of watching the whole Namekian saga because Funnimation was unable to continue at the time.
Despite the old joke "How many DBZ characters does it take to change a light bulb? One, but it takes 50 episodes to do it." I'd rather watch the original incarnation.

It makes it more humorous that Nick Toons played through Kai and are playing GT now. Ubb is one thing though, they need to go back to DB for Pilaf.

the only difference between Kai and Z is that z had different voice actors at the beginning than the rest of it so Kai takes the voice characters and makes it all the same. but they didn't change any storylines or video. so its doesnt matter. still the same lines

Can you please explain us what your opinion is based on, rather than shoting in the wild like a loose cannon? That would be much and much more helpful to me! ;)

Certain aspects of the story that were never really covered in the original dub were all explained much better this time around. Kai all the way!

It is the classic, and it feels complete with the Buu saga. I do like Kai, but I still prefer the original. It's longer and I like the music for it better.
Hope that explains things.
