Make your own anime?
Posted 2/16/12

So I made a fun little anime parody that I wanted to share around. I whipped this together in a few hours, so it's pretty basic, but it was mostly for a larf.

Let me know what you guys think! Here's the link: http://www.slightlyorange.com/sketchmedia/main.php?animation=17

Now what about you guys? Have you ever tried to animate (or succeeded in animating) any anime at all? Share it!

i live in america so its impossible to make anime here. but i have made some animations. im pretty good with photoshop, so cgi is my next target with animation hopefully i can find better programs that i can use. but it takes forever to do em so not likely to have any anytime soon.

have you ever done a flippy book, thats animation. or a 2 page animation which is a flip o rama.
make a sequence using stick figures, use a movie maker and put them in order and you got animation.
to go harder you need a better program and detailed sequences and thats all there is to it.
you can do it with one picture. you just gatta alternate it quickly to make it look like there moving. such as the fish bowl illusion you prob learned when you were in grade school would be a fine example.
eventually u'll pick up tricks that makes it look like you have more scenes but you are actually using less than usual.

Yeah, I mean, look at the animation I just posted there. I just drew a picture of an anime girl and moved it around the screen haphazardly and made her mouth alternate between open and closed. SUCCESS!

You could easily enough do what I did by using windows movie maker, and just importing the individual images that you can just as well draw in MS Paint.

actually.... that could be a fun idea....

lol that was what i was suggesting, just didn't use details such as paint. i actually reverted my ms paint to the original paint program. much better and easier to make animations. sometimes i prefer photoshopping using paint rather than photoshop itself.
back on topic, yea i saw your vid. it was cute.
it is fun to use paint for animation, but i feel that my level of skill is way past that. i made a bunch of anime base scene like the kamehameha wave and random action bits. which is like a 4 sec vid that takes about a month of freetime to do. just saying but theres alot of voice changer and voice manipulation tools to. so you can make a whole anime series by yourself. but thats ganna cost money for the programs.
and by cgi, i meant like movies where its animated and looks real, and to use anime example final fantasy 7 advent children movie.

I'd be interested to see what you can do. Post something

i knew you would ask, and i know imma get criticized. but all my work goes in a hard drive or on megaupload (bad choice). hard drive was murdered by 2 year old nephew and of course megaupload got shut down to obvious reason.
my desktop that i used, died due to dumbass older brother 3 years ago and you can guess why and he sold it before i could remove the hard drive. i then got a laptop and a cuz formatted the hard drive. and now i have a laptop thats has only used about 22 gigs mainly from starcraft 2.

my only work i have left are some some stuff from computer graphics class from highschool on one of my old flash drive that i have misplaced. but the work on it is crappy. i think my only good work there was using illustrator to make a live trace of the blood move poster bit by bit by hand. but its doesn't prove a point cuz for all you know i coulda just taken a picture and did live trace.

Interesting topic. I always wanted to make my own but I don't have the patience and the time to learn. I can photoshop, draw and do basic Flash and Adobe Premiere but that's how far I go.

Brersteve, the animation was good. It seemed complex to me.... or probably it's just because I really don't know how to edit. I think there's still room for improvement in terms of dubbing, drawing style and color.

I suggest you make a youtube channel where you can showcase your talents. Who knows maybe we'll see your works in big animation studios in the future.

Your anime parody reminded me of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YsYWT5Q_R_w&feature=sh_e_se&list=SL

Yeah, uh, I got in a cutesy humor kinda mood one easter. I mean it's the most complete animation I have thus far, but I've made other stuff ... like domo fighting a ninja ... and like an intro thing too. ANYWAY, here:
