Hoping it comes to my town. I've never gotten to see a Studio Ghibli on the big screen; it would be a nice change.

Seen it.
No anime movie gets shown in the movies here and only really popular franchises get released on dvd blurays here(like FF Advent Children). So I don`t feel bad for pirating it. |

Quote me if you want me to notice it :P

I love the attention to detail in this film. A lot of thought went into how the world would be like at that size. Little things, like how the Water beads up, gave you a really great sense of immersion

Haven't seen it yet. I'm really wanting to... Had the chance, but my car was being a jerk and decided to give me problems on that particular day. Well, I'll try to find another day to go watch it.

Seen it. I thought it was good but not as good as previous Ghilbi films (Spirited Away, Ponyo) mainly because the ending was rather underwhelming IMO.

Saw it couple of months ago, I would rate it 5/10. Why? Because while Arrietty is cute and lovely, the human child is insufferable annoying and dumb. There are many moments in the film that doesn't really make sense, and other moments where you just want to slap the kid. I would recommend any other Ghilbi film over this one.
And as Zangai said, ending wasn't good. |

Just saw it today and I thought it was very good. The details and art were top notch, and the story simple and sweet. Arrietty is a great character. Shawn, the human boy in the film, is OK, but a pretty standard "sick kid" character. I found the ending to be sweet. Most other ways of ending the story would have felt forced or artificial. The way it was done gave closure and a sense of optimism.

This movie was done by a different person, whereas the other films you mentioned were done by the same person therefore, the direction of the film will be different. |
