Sad thing is it's worse than that. I know some miniatures wargamers who refer to GW as 'The evil empire' and look down on most WFB and WH40K players with a sneer.

Similar fractures exist within any 'community' you could name.

weeeeeeell.... to be fair, GW -IS- the Evil Empire. gawd.. have you SEEN the prices they're charging for their figs these days? i think most warhammer players will easily agree with other gamers about -that- subject. =P

and yea, definitely. heck, even within just the D&D community; which version of the rules are we going to use?
original classic D&D? AD&D? 2nd ed AD&D? (oh now -there- was a schism in the community..) D&D 3rd? 3.5? 4th? are they past 4th yet?
and every single one of these rulesets has its own collection of rabid fanboys, with their own reasons why "set X is the -only- proper set.", as well as plenty of much more casual "oh well y'know, it's just what the other guys like to play, i don't mind whichever" kinds of attitudes.

and that's all within what is by some definitions all just a single game. imagine if we start looking around at some of the -other- RPG systems out there. except for palladium. that was kinda built from the ground up to go well as a mash-together. mutant samurai giant miniature space hamster casting magic and flying transformable mecha thru interdimensional portals back and forth thru time... sure why not, timmy has all the rulebooks to cover that.

edit: also meant to mention... try to avoid the double and triple posting like that... some of the mods seem to get rather sticky about it.

So.. while we're all agreeing that ignorant hatred is bad. What do you all feel about furries?

depends what kind. Never met one in real life so I can't say there. As for the drawn furries it depends how they are drawn.

Why do we care? Because we should. If people stop caring then these things are gonna start being considered normal and ok. As a society we are supposed to care about things. And it's stupid people who don't care and refuse to admit something is wrong that are the reason why society takes so damn long to progress forward.

and that right there is the head-up-own-butt attitude i'm talking about. no no, little eclaire, you could never do anything wrong. it's never your fault. there'll always be someone else to blame.

As a society, we should all blah blah blah yea fukkit. If the people in power can't pull their own heads out their own/ each others butts, and see what kind of trouble they're causing, the rest of this hellhole is doomed anyways. so i really wasted enough time today on shit so trivial as group A whining coz group B is being mean to them on some forum/BBoard somewhere.

I genuinley havent done anything wrong no matter what your opinion is. I don't know why you all hate me so much but you are the ones at fault constantly posting a load of hateful crap. I've never been banned. but carbokill has. What does that tell you?
And if no one cares then nothing is going to change. I suppose people like you don't care what bad stuff happens in the world as long as it doesn't effect you. That's just selfish. I bet you would suddenly start caring if you were victimised.
And again..name spelt wrong. How can you spell it wrong so many times when it is right there in front of you.

So it's not already considered normal to throw random insults at people who don't agree with you? Or just for no reason at all? Because that's pretty much the culture of the internet right now and it's seeped over onto Xbox live probably PSN and is then also coming int oreal life situations.

i've never been banned either. and my original account was like 2 years old before i deleted it. does that make me "more right" than you or something? Carbo getting banned just means he doesn't control his temper well and says plainly exactly what he means, instead of trying to be tactful about it.

and no, you genuinely haven't done anything against the rules. but it's not against the rules to post stupid ignorant crap.

anyways, time for bed. your spelling is going downhill, eclaire.

silly girl.

If the history of 'mankind' shows us one thing, it is that people will hate, bully, intimidate, destroy or use any form of violence for no apparent reason. There is no logic or rational explanation. Philosophers and scholars have often pointed out that at times the human condition has shown us that people will do the most irrational, unspeakable things "simply because they can", or at the least simply to make themselves feel better. Attempts to 'educate them' or peacefully 'agree to disagree' are futile wastes of time. Someone somewhere is going to hate you no matter what you do or do not do and nothing you can do will ever change that. The best thing is to try and enjoy what you want to out of this short life and forget about the rest of the world.

Anilinkz has a good selection of anime and I used to frequent that site often. I didn't see any haters per se except on the chat areas. Someone who should've been banned was always reappearing and fraternizing with the gals. Usually after 2 minutes this guy would print certain slang words repeatedly every other post. I'm guessing all the other keys on his keyboard were as non-functional as most of his brain.

Megavideoupload ran me off that site. You could watch about 3 episodes of anime, ova, cartoons before a pop-up would appear begging you to subscribe for a fee. To subvert it you had to get offsite for 55+ minutes. This set the counter back to zero for another 3 ep run free of megavideoupload popups. The federal government busted this guy for illegally uploading copyrighted material recently but I haven't been back to this site to watch any anime lately.

actually, history shows us that they had all kinds of reasons for doing whatever they did. we just like to say "no logical reason whatsoever" because we don't like whatever act was committed and want to deny it any possible justifications. even deranged serial killers do what they do for some kind of reason, tho that reason might exist solely within their heads. without a reason for a being to do something, no being will do it. even animals have reasons for their actions, tho by our definitions they would be very simple reasons; hunger, fear, intrusion on its territory, etc.
--not suggesting that all of these reasons they used are valid, legitimate, well thought-out, or anything else. only that the people causing these acts had their reasons for doing them.

My spelling is pretty much exactly the way i want it to be. haven't you figured that out yet, eclaire?

You missed the point. Everyone thinks they have a 'valid' reason, which in the end is irrelevant. With or without reason or validity, etc, is not the point. The point is that friction with others or an unprovoked attack from another person is sooner or later unavoidable. If you have done nothing to engage such a person or provoke such an action it is then them and not you who has a 'problem'. I feel it is better to deal with such moments as they come and immediately move on to do whatever it is that you enjoy doing.

I haven't run into too many sites that have anime bashers. But in RL, it's constant. My family isn't all that big in it and they hope that I'll get out of it eventually, but they're still supportive in who I am. When I was a Junior in HS, my friends and I finally got an anime club up by 2nd semester. We had a hard time finding a teacher that would sponsor it and he finally came in January. Anywho, our club president went around to his other teachers and asked them why they didn't support it. The response he got was that 'those kids are weird'. It infuriated him.

On top of that, the art teachers that we had hated us as well. They thought that that was all we did for projects. And that wasn't true. One of my friends is not only skilled in her anime and manga art, but she's also a skilled sewer and made her prom dress for senior year. It was GORGEOUS.

Eclaire is one way of spelling it I suppose. But as my Firefox spell check is telling me, that is the incorrect way. Eclair you're name is fine and Firefox spell check agrees.
