Time to be annoying: an "android", by definition, would be a robot that looks like a male human (andro being latin for male). When you say female android, you actually mean a gynodroid. Moving on from nit-pickyness...

Awesome idea, but I'd prefer cyborg technology more. Course, the two are so much alike that if we had one we would probably have the other.
Also, now I need to go re watch GITS.

A hatch in the back of the head? I donno.

It's fantasy. however in the first episode of GITS SAC the minister of the interior had a hobby of mind swapping with geisha droids so.. who knows?

"Andros" is Greek. Unfortunately, it seems nobody's yet gotten around to coining 'anthroid', would would be completely sex neutral(the conflation's probably just an outgrowth of English not having a dedicated term for 'male human').

As long as there were all the right fluids and warm flesh, I don't think many would care if they're real or just incredible facsimiles.

Well, yes... English does have a dedicated term for 'male human' - 'man'. What it lacks is a convenient term for 'gender neutral human' other than 'person' or 'human'. There is a history of using the term 'man' to mean all people, but that doesn't mean that it isn't gender specific.

The bigger problem with this post, grammatically, is the title! Yeesh! Try to at least make your title readable!

As for my answer? No, that seems like a waste of money to me. If I was going to by an android as a household servant or something like that, I might consider having it look like an anime girl, but I would be more likely to have it look like Nicole Kidman or Marilyn Monroe. Most of the anime characters that I would be tempted to have it look like wouldn't be very useful, as they would be too short to reach tall cupboards and such. (Taiga... Victorique... etc...) OK, maybe I would chose Holo or Belldandy... Especially if I were single (and didn't mind ensuring that I would remain so by having this device in my house! LOL!)

Of course I would.

In my case it's almost a no-brainer at this stage of my life....

By 'dedicated', I meant a word that always unambiguously meant 'male human'(such as "andros"). "Man" has always been generic as well as specific.
