http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2012-02-22/warner-develops-live-action-film-of-tite-kubo-bleach-manga
The Variety entertainment trade news source is reporting on Wednesday that American film studio Warner Brothers licensed the live-action feature rights to Tite Kubo's supernatural action manga and anime Bleach and is now developing the project. It has assigned Dan Mazeau (Wrath of the Titans remake) to write a script. Peter Segal (Get Smart remake, The Longest Yard, Anger Management) is attached as a producer with a possibility of being the director as well. I think this was an old news from 2010 but recently made public again: The Hollywood Reporter newspaper's Heat Vision blog reported in 2010 that Warner Brothers was "in the process of securing the movie rights to" Bleach. Heat Vision had reported then that Segal was lining himself up to produce, but not direct. Your thoughts? |

I kind of hope they don't do it all. Plus it'll probably suck which will then only give Bleach haters even more reason to hate. The anime already doesn't do justice to the manga so I'd hate for a live-action movie to do it even more.

To me, I would leave this anime, manga, live action movies to the Japan! I mean, Kubo made the manga, anime, he should have an part in it. since he know how everything is all planned out. Doing this make people quit watching or maybe read Bleach. That like what happen to Dragonball Evolution. They made the movie so crappy that it ruin the Dragonball,DragonballZ nice name. |

It would also create alot of fake fans, whom only get info off the movie, which is usually wrong.

Have you ever seen a Japanese anime with a live action movie made by Americans to be any good? No? Didn't think so...

if the FCC wasn't so anal retentive we wouldn't have the issues with translation, story, etc. but we will see how far the producer/ director is willing to go outside the lines. IF they decide to give the live action some manga flare (Kudo's to Kubo) then i will be willing to watch.

But...how's it gonna work if the anime/manga is really long? Doesn't that mean it'll be dragged along until they find a place to end the movie? Even then, it makes ya think if they're gonna end it good enough that it won't need to be dragged along...I'm kind of confused by this. I hope they don't kill it...'-_-
