new books, old books. they all smell good. if smelling books is weird, then so be it.

this is a weird fascination but i like to see the pages of books turn yellow. it just feels.. how should i put it.. aged perhaps? something along that line;

I know exactly how you feel and I don't think it's weird at all. There are much stranger things that people are into than the smell of a well read and aged book... I enjoy it myself. It adds an air of authenticity to the book, as though it has been passed down through the ages.

im not too picky about it, but if i've started a series of book in one format or the other, then i'd normally go for the same format for all of the books. sadly sometimes i have to compromise and mix it up

Hardcovers look nice, paperbacks are cheaper. Both pale in comparison to the Kindle. It's easier to hold and if I desire it will read the book to me.

Hardcovers when I really like the series - they tend to last longer than paperbacks (I have quite a few that are falling apart on my shelves), and I like supporting authors that I enjoy.

When I'm travelling, though, paperbacks all the way because they mostly fit in my jacket pockets if needed. If I could get eBooks for a lot of what I read, I'd probably switch over and use one of the 7" tablets for the same reason.

A book I will be using repeatedly for reference will be hardcover, all others will be digital.

If I can get it in hardcover, I will... It just lasts longer... I have too many paperback books with lost front covers because they get worn out easily.

I like to reread books... A LOT!

Hardback, I hate seeing creases and bends in the spine.

It's hard to say because it depends on your needs and for what you're goining to use it . . .

Paperbacks, great for traveling and ease of storage, more available titles. I do also collect hardcover books specifically leather bound gilt-page books or antiquated published editions, they are more aesthetically appealing on my bookshelf.

I like hardcover if it's going to be in my backpack a lot. That way I won't have to worry about the ends and corners bending. If it's a light book that I know I'll finish quickly then I want paperback. I also like real books over digital, but I understand that digital is way more convenient to have.

Depends on whether I like the aesthetic appeal of the book. I own Count of Monte Cristo in hardback because it looks nice, and Dune in paperback, again, because it looks better that way. I like both books about the same amount, and both are pretty similar in length, so it just comes down to looks. Although usually, I don't own what I'm reading -- I get it from the library. In that case it's almost always paperback, for the sake of weight.
