Hardcover. Lots of things can happen to paperback...it can get soggy, bent up easy, etc.

hardcovers look nice but the bindings for me always break and has to be taped up but paper backs for me last much longer

I would choose paperback.
Hardcover is often bigger and heavier to carry around, so paperback makes it all easier.

I absolutely would never choose digital if I could choose a real book instead. I love the fact to have a real book in my hands and such.
