Honestly, I usually get paperback because it's way cheaper and it's usually the one in stock, but I prefer hardback by a long shot. They last a lot longer, and they're so beautiful...

When I was younger I would always want hardcover books because I thought they were cool and looked better. Now that I have to buy my own books as an adult, I buy paperback when I can because they're cheaper lol. I'll occasionally buy ebooks on my tablet too.

I like both. But paperback is cheaper.

I personally prefer paperback over hardcover. I'm very careful with my books, so I'm pretty good at never bending the front and back covers of a paperback book. The only book series that I wanted in hardcover was the Harry Potter series. I have others in hardcover, but paperback is cheaper and fits on my bookcase easier.

I like hardcovers because I reread books so often that my paperbacks get all dinged up and feel flimsy to me. They're so much more expensive though...

I personally like hardcover more. But, like with my trade paperbacks for instance, most are paperback, so it would annoy me to have 1 random hardcover of Batman, while the rest of my DC stuff are paperback xD

I wish all my books were hardcover... so that they would last more than a semester.

Both, but hardcover is better because it doesn't ruin the condition of the book.

I prefer paperbacks because they're easier to carry and hold, although over the last several years I've been developing carpal tunnel in both my wrists and I should probably switch to hardcover or digital cause I'd be able to put them a flat surface and that'd be easier on my hands....

As it stands if I keep my hands in the same position for too long (i.e., holding a book in front of my face) my hands go completely numb and it sucks.

Kindle>paperback>hardcover

Kindle is the best invention ever!! (for someone who has to moved around a lot like me). I can bookmark my favorite parts, highlight my favorite lines and my favorite of all: get the meaning in just seconds of a word I've never heard of! without interrupting my reading to go look for a dictionary or go online to look up the meaning.

I have 100+ books in my kindle which is a very tiny device that doesn't take much space in my small room^^ I still have 100+ books more (paperback and hardcover) I will sadly have to sell/throw away soon but I don't want because I love them I'd feel bad paying for them again just to have them in my kindle though (poor college student here). I have to move in a few months and the 2 boxes full of books can be hardly moved because they are too heavy so I might just leave them there so the next owner of the house can have fun with them.

Paperback doesn't take much space, it's not that heavy or uncomfortable to read with as hardcovers are. If I were to have a house I know I will never leave again, I would love to make a library room for myself and only then, I wouldn't mind having hardcovers.
