I'd say hardcover would be my first choice. If I really like the book though, I'll take a paperback. I'm still adjusting to digital books, so I won't rule them out yet. Definitely my last choice though.

Hardcover. It doesn't bend as easily or get damaged. And I'm not a fan of digital books.
The feeling of holding a real book covered in paper and ink is so much better.

Paperback . . . they're cheaper.

Trouble is, a bunch of the stuff that I like to read is only available as hardcover or the infamous Trade Paperback (looks like a big paperback and costs as much as hardcover.)

If I can get them for free I'll download e-books and use Kindle for PC....

Hardcover. Harder to bend and some light novels have special artwork on the hardcover copies.

I don't really like books, but I like hard cover books better just because they are sturdier. You know for when you need an instant table or for something to write on. ^_^

I prefer hardback. I don't really take car of books, and they seem to last longer.

I prefer paperback. I've never liked hardcovers because they cost more, weigh more, and are more bulky. I bring books with me to work to read during lunch so I really care about the weight. If I had no choice in the matter, if something is only going to be available in hardcover form, then I'll buy it of course. In the end, the content is what matters.
