Hardcover or not, it really doesn't matter as long as it's a BOOK. I'm still not fond of reading it with this whole tablet thing coming out.

I prefer digital, but if I end up liking the book I'll buy it in hardback, it tends to hold better together for me.

Mangasurf wrote: I have this weird ocd thing about books, hardcover or paperback, doesnt matter. As long as the pages smell good when i read i'm set. I'm an enviro-freak but I could never buy a device to read off a screen with like the kindle or whatever. Old fashioned paper and bindings is the way i'm staying. i agree but not on the smell part.... anywho i hate kindle's they take away the feeling you get when you read a real book knowing every crease in the book is from you reading it over and over again and the look of them going into the shelf and sitting there with the other books waiting to be read and then you read it again and again as you wait for the next book! anyway i like paperback better |

Paperback, i hate the whole digital thing now... i prefer to hold a book rather than a digital device, nothing is better than turning a page rather than swyping your finger... lol

If it's a book I really like, then I go for the hardcover. If it's something else (like textbooks for schools, dictionaries, ect.) then paperback.
I try to not get any digital copies because I don't want to ruin my eyes staring at a computer screen. And I'm not getting a tablet just to read a book! |

I do not like digital books because I am the type of person who would throw my book when I reach a part of the book where I get frustrated.
And I prefer hardcovers because they last longer and I can use them as weapons when people annoy me. |

Hardcovers. Because I like my books to stay in pretty condition, and they don't easily get bent out of shape. (I don't like jackets! They get torn so easily!) But they sure can be heavy.
I prefer a softcover, though, if it's a really beat-up book that I don't feel any qualms about putting more wrinkles in the cover. ![]() |

Paperback for casual reading and hardcover for books that I'd want to display and keep indefinitely...

My preferences ~
Hard-covered books for reading-on-the-go or something. If I'm going on a trip, I always take hard-covered books. Because when I bring paperback books and I keep them in my bag, they either get wrinkled, ripped, or stained. However, they are heavier than paperback books, which is a big disadvantage. I use paperback books for comfortable reading, as if you were just wanting to relax. Since the paperback books are light, it's easy to just fall asleep on them because they're so light. o u o . Anyway, I'd prefer paperback books. You don't need to read all that crap, 'kay. ;3; |
