Hardcover or Paperback?
|
I will normally read a book on digital format first if I can get it. Or if it is from the library I do not care what format it is in. lately I have only been buying books that I already know I like (the same goes for manga and anime). When I do buy books I prefer a high quality hardcover whenever I can get it. They are worth the investment and hold up better over the years. I will only get a soft cover when there is no other choice, and if it is very cheaply bound I may not even bother when digital is available because some soft cover books feel like they are printed on toilet paper, way too cheap and the pages rip when you turn them no mater how careful you are.

I like hardcover better but tend to buy paperback cause it's cheaper. But I am very OCD about having a set either completely hardcover or completely paperback. I like the idea of not having to carry or have a ton of books with the invention of the digital books but i still much prefer the feel of holding a book.

I don't really have a perference as far liking one over the other, but I tend to buy paper backs since as others have said, they are cheaper.

It depends. I have texture issues, so some hardcovers feel like sand paper, I cringe, and if some papercovers are too smooth, I cringe. Over all, I do prefer hardcovers.

Hardcover or not, it really doesn't matter as long as it's a BOOK. I'm still not fond of reading it with this whole tablet thing coming out.

I prefer digital, but if I end up liking the book I'll buy it in hardback, it tends to hold better together for me.

Mangasurf wrote: I have this weird ocd thing about books, hardcover or paperback, doesnt matter. As long as the pages smell good when i read i'm set. I'm an enviro-freak but I could never buy a device to read off a screen with like the kindle or whatever. Old fashioned paper and bindings is the way i'm staying. i agree but not on the smell part.... anywho i hate kindle's they take away the feeling you get when you read a real book knowing every crease in the book is from you reading it over and over again and the look of them going into the shelf and sitting there with the other books waiting to be read and then you read it again and again as you wait for the next book! anyway i like paperback better |

Who can't wait for the Star Driver Movie? and the Code Geuss Movie either.

Paperback, i hate the whole digital thing now... i prefer to hold a book rather than a digital device, nothing is better than turning a page rather than swyping your finger... lol

Updating my profile (finally)... ^-^

If it's a book I really like, then I go for the hardcover. If it's something else (like textbooks for schools, dictionaries, ect.) then paperback.
I try to not get any digital copies because I don't want to ruin my eyes staring at a computer screen. And I'm not getting a tablet just to read a book! |
