Given that you want to be understood and that you think people who trash YOUR hobbies are trolls and bullies don't you think you're being a hypocrite by saying that?

What If I said that your obvious like for an art medium suggests that you're a Japanophile who likes Lolis and tentacle rape and that scares me? Would you think I was being fair? What do you know about firearms other than that you don't like them and you find their owners 'scarey' how is that different from the anti-anime types who try to destroy your joy in what we both agree is a fun artform?

Ack! caught me. I use NATO nomenclature a lot but I don't 'THINK' in it. I tend to follow the common practice of 'trade' names. .380 ACP, 9mm Short etc. ( )

The bolt makes mounting a scope difficult but the real selling point of of the Mosin-Nagant or an SKS for that matter is that both they and the ammo are so cheap that you can find the rifle/carbine and 1500 rnds online for less than half of what you'd pay for just about any other rifle.

basically you'd have the Zombie Apocalypse kit in a box for less than $200. hard to argue with that.

If I had MY druthers I'd go Hunting with a Canadian Made varient of the FN FAL (the C1 we called it) Just because that's what I trained on back during the cold war. And I have a sentimental streak for 'patriotic' firearms. Unfortunately the FAL and pretty much all battle/Assualt rifles are prohibited weapons in Canada. Not even restricted (like pistols) but prohibited. So... it's not to be.

Guns don't kill people, people do.

I've never been hunting. I'm at conflict with myself whether to try or not...

Honestly My favourite prey is inanimate objects. Paper doesn't bleed. Tin cans don't scream (but you can make them dance). But you can't eat tin or paper. And While I don't like the kill. I find camping fun. Stalking, tracking, and ambushing to be really challenging tests of skill. and Marksmanship is ... like that moment when you get the perfect golf stroke.. or hit a home run. It's special.

And as I said before I'm a meat eater. I feel I should demonstrate willingness to kill my own food and clean up my own mess.

The last time anybody went hunting was when this guy accidentally shot his wife in the knee. It was brutally bad.

Other than that, I don't hunt and would not liked to be hunted.

Ha! I used to have a Russian SKS. It was from 1954, and shot like a dream. The sad thing about them is finding hi-cap magazines that function correctly. Same goes for AK-47. As for AKs, I had a Romanian WASR-10 which I had serviced by a tech working for the distributor Century International Arms, who dabble in many bargain-priced firearms usually fashioned from a mishmash of used parts. I sold that to my father, who wanted one for quite a while. I currently have a rare (due to the U.S. ban of importation of Norinco firearms) Norinco NHM-91, which is one of the post-ban models sold in America after the assault weapons ban was enacted. It has a thumbhole stock and a cap permanently placed on the end of the beautiful, chrome-lined, match grade barrel to prevent the affixing of a flash hider. It also had the bayonet lug neutered, but such a firearm as the NHM-91, crossbreed between AK-47 and RPK LMG, doesn't need a pigsticker.

The one thing I don't like about some FAL type rifles is their difficulties functioning in cold weather, though there are lubricants that can remedy this issue. This is where an M1 type rifle would come in handy. The Garand action is proven just about as dirt tough as anything else out there. I used to have a Ruger Mini-14, but was displeased with its inaccuracy. If I had clairvoyance, I would have known about the Mini-14 Target, which is an excellent varminter.

My varmint requirement has been best filled with my supremely accurate Remington VSSF chambered in .22-250 (my particular model is discontinued) coupled with a Leupold VX-II 6-18x40mm scope. The trigger group is match grade, and the stock is an H&S Precision composite with an aluminum bedding block. The barrel is a fluted 26" with an integral muzzle brake, making it that much easier to reacquire a target, though hearing protection is strongly advised. It will put 3 shots within 1/4" at 100 yards shooting my hand loads.

My .22-250 loading data: Winchester brass, Sierra 55gr. BlitzKing, 38 grs. Hodgdon H380. Velocity: approximately 3500 fps.

It is hard to classify anything as being the best in the firearm world. Different weapons have their uses in different situations.

However, if you want to know the best semi-automatic sniper rifle, look no further than the Heckler and Koch PSG1.

Costs a heart stopping $10,000.

I freaking love semi-automatic sniper rifles. I want a semi-auto Dragunov that is customized to be quiet without a silencer and I want it to have a grande launcher on it. There is more details to it buut I forgot them. sdkljsdklj Tell meh moar +w+

You can't blame a hormonal little boy like me for being "a little too harsh" against someone like that. If you remember a week or so back.

Personally, I would not hunt an animal unless it was absolutely necessary. Like, if for some reason, I woke up as Bear Grylls, with no supplies other than a full bladder, and a survival knife. In a situation like that, I would hunt. Otherwise, I'm not planning on shooting anything for sport in my life.

You can't silence a firearm without a silencer very well at all. And if I wanted a Dragunov, I wouldn't mount a grenade launcher on it, for that can raise your profile too high when steadying the rifle laying prone would be necessary. If your position is exposed, you are in grave danger.

True. But what if I had a ballistic knife launcher on the gun? That... sounds so cool. +w+
