Which shojo anime is the best?

The good character construction, the emotional impact of facial expression, and occasional touch of humor makes shojo, at least for me, something that is almost guaranteed to be enjoyable. There are only a select few shojo animes that I see as really great, and on the other hand, there are very few shojo animes, if any, that I have found to be less than decent. It is in this way that shojo really shines in my opinion, because we all know there are plenty of shounen-style animes that are complete and utter crap. My favorite shojo anime by far is Skip Beat! What yours?

Yes there is some yaoi in it, but that's not really the focus. It is on the conspiracy behind No. 6, the bees and the outside world. That's what I find that makes the show awesome!

It's even past josei and typically 16/18+. But for me...I'd say it'd have to be Skip Beat as well. The anime, but the manga is what makes it Number 1 for me. Followed closely by Kare Kano.

Saiunkoku Monogatari - there are 3 seasons. its really good. just look past the pastel colors and focus on the politics, plot and character development. the lead's going to be so much more than just the lover of the king. there needs to be a 4th season :C Kimi ni Todoke Ayashi no Ceres (uh, maybe) Kodomo no Omocha - if you don't mind the old art, its awesome. when someone recommended it to me, i honestly thought it'd be generic and boring. now its one of my favorites. these are what i remember off the top of my head. i hope you'll find one enjoyable ^__^
