Opinions Regarding the Gore

I tend to like anime series that are somewhat intellectual and puzzling, which this one seems to do (based on reviews) but I am worried about the level of gore. If any of you watched Blood C, I did and the last 3 episodes were way too much for me to handle, gore-wise. If you can tell me if it's on that level or not?? I don't want to scar myself further Maybe you can relate the gore level to a different anime?

The gore isn't too too bad. mostly what you see is pools of blood and spattter.

It's usually faded out to be less visible, but overall the death scenes themselves can be somewhat tense and disturbing.

the gore for the most part isn't too bad. except for two particular scenes that really freaked me out. but all in all i think you should give it a go:)

The gore really is not that bad - From what I was expecting...I thought I would be seeing piles of blood in every episode.

It is more of the psychological aspects that bring scares or thrills. In fact the only part that I would say was super gory...was

The gore is minimal. Just some cartoon blood.

But, I love gore. So maybe you shouldn't mind my opinion.

However, I think it is about to get pretty red in Episode 11...

There is definitely blood in this series, but don't let that stop you. Keep in mind that this is a different kind of gore than what you see in other series or in a lot of recent movies (like Saw). Movies like that are just gory for the sake of shock. Unlike those snuff film wannabes however, this series is artfully done, and while again, yes, there is blood, its nothing that should give you nightmares.

This is probably, and I kid you not, my favorite anime to come out in the last few years (at least hosted here at CR). I am terrified that Another might get licensed and go the way of Deadman Wonderland. If that happens, you will seriously be kicking yourself. Series like this are what I maintain my membership for. Catch it in glorious 720p or 1080p while you can.

Summary: bloody, but not guts and brains gory, its certainly worth watching.

PS: You had asked about a comparison with Blood C. Let me say that while Another is bloody, its really not violent - no one is dicing other people up. Blood C is kind of like Bleach as directed by Quentin Tarantino - more the run-up-and-chop-your-head-off-with-a-pointy-object kind of anime, whereas Another is more the someone-screams-then-the-camera-pans-over-to-see-a-bloodstain kind of anime. There are a few exceptions as noted by previous posters, but Blood C is generally more gory than Another, whereas Another is usually a lot more psychologically intense than Blood C.

EDIT: Ok, toward the end, the violence ramps up a little. It's still not a dealbreaker though, and definitely worth the time.

I wouldn't say the gore is anything bad really, I mean their are Animes out there with much more ... intense stuff, this is a low level gore monster for sure, well ... medium-low.

This anime is very smart on the level and how much gore it uses. If there was any less gore it would feel like it was pulling its punches and it would be harder is get into. If there was more gore you wouldn't be shock by it when it happens. I personally don't like "gore" movies/animes, there generally all about shock and no "real" story to them. In this anime while there is some gore in it its used by the story to tell a better story.

The gore in this anime is...well, okay I guess but hey, it's just an anime. And I'm glad I've persuaded myself to watch it. I even got my mom and sister hooked. Good show. x)

on the latest episode, 11, the amount of blood leans towards the bloody rampage mode a little more...

In my opinion, the gore in Another gives me the "intense feeling" rather than a "disturbing feeling" like other shows such as Higurashi etc.

Ya in episode 11 the things they be getting crazy.
