I agree that it could be annoying, but don't stress over it. If you go to the other extreme and nitpick every little thing, you may end up being worse than the people who don't care about language.
Do you actually spend time loving language. Do you enjoy it at all? Do you write for the joy of it? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7E-aoXLZGY |

i couldnt care less, i only use the appropriate periods and commas at most to make my sentances legable. however my spelling still sucks and i really dont care, you know what i am typing and dont harass me because i spell something wrong, most of the time i miss it and most of the time i really really dont care. but if your in a professional position or applying for a job or emailing a company like sony or microsoft on a broken system then appropriet whatever its called should be profesional.

It depends.
I do like lolcat language though. |

On occasion.
But for the most part I've found it easier not to bother. It's far too easy to make a typographical error. I usually edit my post when I see one. |

My first forum was run by grammar nazis, and I still can't remember most of my grammar lessons. So yes, atrocious, unreadable sentences, typing solely in L33T speak, and typing like you're texting on your phone or in chat in forums tend to make me want to take out the whip and leather for a bit. Metaphorically speaking of course.

Yes it annoys me. Honestly, I pretty much home-schooled myself from year 8 onwards, my friends graduated from high school and can't spell the words that you learn in the second grade, yet I am MUCH more intelligent than them all.

Grammar Nazi
A captious individual who cannot resist the urge to correct a spelling and/or grammar mistake even in informal settings. After pointing out the linguistic shortcomings in others, a Grammar Nazi feels a strange sense of twisted and unconstructive intelligentsia delight. In reality, they are making someone else feel bad for no reason and unintentionally implying that their "superior" grammar skills are all they have to show for a wasted liberal arts education. lol are you a grammar nazi u are if u spell correctly in text messages chat rooms forums and even in video games lol i still dont hate u 4 being one i just dont like it when you u point out how others spell a word wrong or if they use the word wrong |

It does irk me, but more in real life then online. It really annoys me when people try to write how they would if they were online or texting someone in English, then wonder why they failed the class.
