I think he's trying to point out that while you want people to use good grammar when speaking/writing with you, your own grammar is not that great. It's rather hypocritical to be honest.

i'm a pretty bad grammar nazi unless it's about capitalization and commas. (blogging/foruming doesn't count)
i also hate short hand texting.
like writing "you" as "u" or just shortening words like from "like" to "lyk"

I don't even pay attention. Unless the person is pretentious or trying to argue something, I just don't care. I think it's funny.

it doesnt irk me, mistakes happen. i hate it when people talk in a really weird way on purpose though like those emo-wannebe's that write like:
'i ishh emoshh and ish luvsh' <- you get the gist.

Yes..even my own grammar makes me like that

I value tight and accurate use of language...but not on a place like this. CR or similar message boards are like having a conversation, and I often place greater value on what is gained through rapid, honest talk compared to what might be lost when people are made nervous by grammar nazis.

However, if someone is trying to put someone else down, or is trying to claim another person's stupidity (or just acting pretentious as mentioned by another poster, above), then an error in basic grammar really stands out.

...don't you dare say something like, "There stupid!"

I don't really care to be honest. At least not on the internet. But if it's on tv then I can let out a big sigh or two.
