Yes, but men do it more often.

Way I see it, people who cheat simply don't love their significant others enough to stay loyal. Also some people don't get enough at home so they look elsewhere, but even then it pretty much amounts to the first one. Some may cheat because they were cheated on first but in that case there's no reason to have continued the relationship in the first place.

from a bio stand point testosterone flows though a mans body and testosterone does alot of wonderful things like makes men men, makes them stupid, horny, and very aggressive to name a few but a key component that this wonderful hormone does is it makes men want to find another mate. Men with high levels of Testosterone are very eager to date or have sexy with the opposite sexy(or same sex) but high testosterone levels also insures that the man will leave his relationship for another one fairly quickly. for example its been proven that one year before a divorce happens usually the male's testosterone levels slowly increases and eventually peaks at the time of cheating or the time of divorce(assuming other things didn't happen like a knife was thrown at the man...etc). this fact is also another reason why relationships with the "bad body" don't work out or relationships with "jocks" fail. now your saying if this is true then why are my parents together?, well when a man and a woman have a baby and the man hold the child in his arms his testosterone level intentionally drop because nature is insuring that the couple stay together and increase the child's survival odds. in-fact men to hold plastic baby will have their testosterone levels drop it produces the same effect of holding an infant. male testosterone also drops in old age which discourages the male to "move on". so males with high levels of testosterone are ruffly 10x more likely to cheat on their spouse or significant others. (also keep in mind Testosterone levels fluctuate so just cuz you have low levels now doesn't mean their going to be low three days from now)

fun fact when a woman enters the room they can immediately sense which man has the most testosterone and will find him attractive (thus why bad boys are attractive). hope that helps you

From your other thread labeled "confusion":

"so here's the statement:
in the past you liked somebody and she/he doesnt like you back
few years later she/he told you that he/she loves you SO SERIOUSLY that he/she cried coz you dont like her/him back
but at present time, he/she LOVES you and you also like her/him alittle and not as much as you love her/him before but you already LOVE sumbody else.

what would you do? any better and rational idea guys?

did the above statement ever happen to you before?
>>need help<< "

I think you already have an inkling of one reason why cheating can happen. Curiosity and giving in to temptation!
Do you really LOVE that sumbody else?

I don't think humans were supposed to be monogamous; marriage and monogamy was instituted by religion.

I'm guessing that you were cheated on.
Welcome to a shortcoming of the human race.
It happens to both genders for a variety of reasons

One study showed that a lot of the women were reluctant to admit to the "wanderlust"

That's a blatant myth. Stupid people use that as an excuse as to why they cheat.

The real reason is they become bored and sex relieves boredom and stress. Boredom in a sex partner leads to seeking a relief in others. In other words, people are stupid enough to get into a situation where they would be bored and seek the simplest route to relieve it.

Am I making sense? I have had a few drinks tonight.

Where are your sources for that statement?

Studies have been inconclusive, with some showing that women cheat considerably more than men, while others point at men. To further muddy the issue, some studies show that the guys who cheat tend to have multiple partners, while a woman who cheats tends to stick with their one side partner. Still others have concluded that women cheat more often, but are better at lying about their behavior to hide it.

I am aware of no solid conclusion that definitively points to one or the other. I suppose that I could go digging more, but it doesn't seem worth it at the moment. However, the bottom line is that to say that one gender is more unfaithful than the other is simply playing on stereotypes. Not facts.

In my experience (amongst those who I know and in my own personal experiences) it's been the women who have a slight lead. With that said, personal experience does not describe the larger reality.

The safe assumption at this time would be to view the behavior of both sexes as being about equal, at least until we have more solid information.

It's all over the internet. Almost every statistic has men marked as the higher percentage. I do not mean to sound sexist but this means men are more likely to cheat than women but only by a slight margin.

I'm speaking from an anthropological stand point. I do agree that boredom could play a part but I think it's a way to simple explanation

Why do you ask?

The answer to that will probably be much more interesting than this thread.
