I sometimes despair that CR is being run by total amateurs who really don't have a Scoobie's what they are doing half the time.

The legality of the statement about who owns the right to the winning character is dubious at best, I suggest CR have another word with their legal representative about this.

Believe it or not, advertisements and mascots aren't just a way for companies to spend money. The point is to attract more customers and make more money. If you hire a pro, you will get better results.

CR is what it is, basically the only place to get simulcast anime. It isn't really professional company, and the way they do things isn't always professional . There is no attempt to hide this, and everyone who has used this site should know what to expect at this point. I have accepted this and continue to subscribe because CR gives me access to shows I want, but I have no loyalty to CR.

I guess what I am trying to say is that there is no reason to be surprised and upset, CR doesn't care, and the users aren't going to leave, but there is no reason to defend CR either, they aren't doing this for us.

You will be credited, gain an increment of fame, it's rational; it is just people distorting what it "means" for your art to become Crunchyroll's official mascot.
Jeez, you guys are enouraging the necessity of full-length legal jargon in the future...

Messed up man. Crunchyroll shouldn't be able to edit the art of someone els and should make sure to give that person credit for it if they end up using the submitted peice...

I would be truly ironic if any of the persons voicing similar complaints were guilty of viewing fansubs, especially of licensed shows.

At least with this, anyone with such concerns has a simple redress; not submitting their work.

that's a different matter entirely. if i could see amagami ss + with out fan subs i would.
