"Golden Time" starts off at 8.7% New MBC drama "Golden Time" started off with a percentage lower than 10%. According to AGB Nielsen Media Research on the 10th, the first episode of Golden Time on the 9th rated 8.7% which is 10.9% lower than the final episode of "Lights and Shadows" which ended on the 3rd. This is 0.8% lower than the first episode of "Lights and Shadows" as well. While "Lights and Shadows" managed to maintain first place starting halfway, "Golden Time" couldn't benefit from it and ended up being the last out of the three dramas aired at the same time. SBS "THE CHASER - Drama" rated 17.9% and KBS 2TV "Big" rated 9.2%. The reason why "Golden Time" and "Lights and Shadows" are so far apart is because of the different genres. It was tough for "Golden Time" to captivate the 4~50s age range which were the ones mostly making up the percentage for "Lights and Shadows". On the other hand, "THE CHASER - Drama", which is about revenge stole away the crowd from "Lights and Shadows" and ranked first place. http://www.hancinema.net/golden-time-starts-off-at-8-7percent-44979.html |

Starring actor Lee Sun-kyun and actress Hwang Jung-eum, “Golden Time” grabbed its fourth win by attracting an average rating of 14.5 percent on August 13 and 14, according to the data compiled by TNmS (Total National Multimedia Statistics) on Thursday. The medical drama goes around the story of doctors performing major surgeries and struggling to save the lives of patients at a general hospital in Busan. Following close behind in second place was SBS' new series “The Great Doctor,” which made its premiere on August 13. The Kim Hee-seon and Lee Min-ho starrer nabbed an average rating of 12 percent during the same time frame, showing promise on the Monday and Tuesday primetime lineup. The fusion historical drama follows the story of a warrior named Choi Young (Lee) from the Koryo Dynasty traveling through time to bring a female doctor Yoo Eun-su (Kim) living in the present to bring her back to the past in order to save their queen who is suffering an illness. TNmS' chart revealed that KBS' "Lovers of Haeundae" (translated title) placed in at the No. 3 spot, posting an average 8.3 percent in ratings, which is a decrease of about two percentage points compared to last week. On AGB Nielson Media Research's poll, the three series were placed in the same order but recorded slightly different numbers. While MBC’s “Golden Time” grabbed the top seed with an average rating of 14.5 percent, SBS’ “The Great Doctor” and KBS' "Lovers of Haeundae" earned average ratings of 9.9 and 8.1 percent respectively, during the same time frame. http://www.kstar10.com/view.htm?sec=tv99&idxno=2012081609451901548 |
