Though from a standard view it may depend where you live? I know that in Shanghai they having a saying that men are very patient because women are demanding. Then in Beijing men are demanding and women are housewives with no rights.
This is true even in America. As I perceive in Florida the east cost people have a lot of money, so ladies there have a trend of being on the 'entitlement' side if I may say so. Than compared to women in Colorado where yes it's also a very rich place but people tend to be more lay back. Or I've moved around too much.....

People in general are complicated, relationships as a result are complicated. It really has nothing to do with gender, it's just way it work. You want to date lots of women, then you have to be flexible or to put it in more crass terms: "fake". Being yourself is only good for finding a narrow band of women that like your type, but those relationships tend to last a bit longer and be more meaningful.

Pretty girls are more stuck up, because they can be, since they have a much broader pool they can choose from, that is, there are more guys who are interested in them than someone who is a bit less attractive regardless of intelligence or personality. Men are subconsciously wired to be attracted to the most PHYSICALLY attractive woman they can manage to get... however, they can choose to consciously make a decision to go with someone less attractive but have other more desirable qualities because they wish to invest in a relationship that could work.

As for girls who like assholes, well, it's all in how you define assholes. You're probably thinking Type A personality. Type A's are the "must win" type guys. Usually more aggressive, confident (sometimes over-confident), competitive and uncompromising. So they do generally come on as being assholes. This is the "pack leader" or "Alpha male" mentality. Probably don't need to explain why women are more attracted to that type.

Just give it a few years, you'll figure out what kind of women are attracted to you, but don't get focused on any one type of girl. You'll eventually find someone that's right for you. Remember, people change, so they way others perceive you and how you perceive others will change as well. Also, don't focus on getting a relationship, focus of improving yourself and being successful, because once you establish yourself as a successful person with high potential, the "pool" of women willing to date you will increase significantly.

lol people are complicated simply because we have emotions nothing is ever written in stone you could feel one way about something one day and come the next day feel completly oposite because of this it can be a little hard to figure some people out then mix in the fact that alot of people arent even aware of their own emotions so they end up doing things that even confuse themselves there are alot of barriers that seperate people nobody will ever be able to truly understand another but its okay as long as you keep trying to understand others you will eventually meet others who try just as hard and that special someone will come from somebody who tries just as hard to understand you as you do for them
