Shrapnel893 I have to ask which show is the best of the 3 anime shows that i'm interested in that you have: Morbito, Shiki, or Stiens Gate and why?

I'm asking this cuz I have Shiki but have not seen it yet and plan on getting Morbito and Stiens Gate. Thanks

Dang that is a pretty large collection

and it's only grown since then. (almost a year) i don't have a camera atm, but i've now got another half bookshelf full. i also have several series on BD, including Stein's;Gate, Hellsing Ultimate vol 5-8, Casshern Sins, Samurai Champloo, and the collectors edition of each of the 3 madoka magika volumes. several others as well. i can say, without a doubt, that i support official localizations. by the way, digimon season 1 english is on dvd finally. rightstuf for the win.

also, several of my dvd's are autographed, including Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt, (monica rial and christopher sabat, (and todd haberkorn, voice of the plumber from ep 1. he REALLY wanted to sign it.), ghost stories by monica rial and greg ayres, sgt frog by monica and chris, negima by greg, eva 1.11 by brina palencia, sgt frog by todd, monica and chris and one i'm particularly proud of is my copy of AIR by monica. and a variety more, but mostly with the same va's. i only ever go to one con, but for the most part, i get them to sign my death note, (such as kirby morrow, who actually signed it with "delete!" in his autograph.)

but yeah.
DVD's. buy 'em.

I love having a physical copy of my favorite anime, so that I know I can watch it any time that I want (not having to deal with websites taking an anime off their site or watching lower quality videos if they're available at all). Also, it's great to see my collection grow on my bookshelves : ) Not to mention buying the DVDs also supports the industry!

Here's what I have so far:

Not in the photo:
*Black Lagoon S1&2 Collection
*One Piece Collections 1,2,3 & 4

I put the closer-look pictures in the spoiler:

I always buy physical copies if they come out in this country, 2 reasons, 1 I like spending money to give to official channels, 2 my Internet is like a 4th rate country, otherwise I would like to have ultraviolet versions of them all.

Both display cases are completely full now and I have another dvd rack which now holds the majority of my games but it's now gradually filling up with anime and movies as well.
There's also normal movies and tv series in there by the way.

It may also not look like a lot but I put a lot of my non-limited/special edition series from seperate cases into multi dvd cases to save space.

Ah, well I would have to say all three are great for different reasons. If you like horror mixed in with mystery and violence you'd want Shiki, if just straight up mystery and more scientific analysis I'd say Steins;Gate, and for a fantasy action story Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit. If you plan on getting all three why ask which one is the best? If you mean which show that I recommend you watch first I would pick Moribito because I just love Balsa as a character. All three are relatively slow-paced compared to shows like Bleach or Naruto, and all three require a bit of thinking to get through. Of the three, I would say Moribito is the easiest to get into because it doesn't deal with time travel like Steins;Gate or include a large cast like Shiki. Really, I can't tell you which one is the best - you have to figure that out for yourself. Like I said before, all three are great, wonderful stories for different reasons. Plus they deal with different genres, so I can't honestly give a fair comparison between them.

Garden of Sinners is a great show, or should I say set of movies? Rebuild of Evangelion is great too.

Virtually a third of my collection is anime/manga. So that makes up 1 dvd rack, one book shelf, 1/3 of a oak book case and 1 cabinet, out of 8 storage units together. Yet I'm still after more.

The irony is if I could, I would buy via itunes. Sad fact is they will not sell it so bluray/dvd is my only option other than crunchyroll and lovefilm. If it was available via download like itunes or from retailers, I'd buy it that way for storage and more likely to get it in HD. Sadly they won't seem to sell it that way.

I've actually been cutting back on buying for a cost, waiting for it to be cheaper and saving for a holiday, & running out of storage.

Heck, that's not including my bros anime, which I wish I had but for realistic terms it's easier for him to buy and me to borrow.

I have many dvd anime series that I buy. Anime shows are very expensive though aren't they?

I have around 25-30 anime shows I believe

I collect my anime on dvds.

The only anime I saw that I didn't collect because they never finished releasing it on dvd was Monster

Yes, they are very expensive. I've seen spent well over $1,000 on all of my things and don't plan on stopping till I at least reach 100 individual titles. I have 64 so far. As for Monster, that's most likely never going to be released past box set 1. Apparently, Viz Media has a long list of dropped titles they never got around to finish releasing DVDs for or just plain didn't release. At least I got Death Note from them, for around $30. I could have gotten Clannad and Clannad After Story during the Christmas holiday for $60 but I lucked out and it's back up to its now reduced $100 dollar price range. It used to be $80 for each if I remember correctly. Though that's with Sentai, not Viz. So yeah, buying these things are very expensive, get deals when you can.

Below are some of the shows I plan on getting, I may take some out or add more later:

Due to a spot of redecorating I can't show a picture of mine, but very much so. I have 4 shelvesof manga and almost as much anime. I'd buy more if England actualy got most of them though.

We have only just had Shakugan No Shana series 2 releaced for example, and never got Higurashi, so I tend to assume I'd have at least a bookcase more if they were avalable.

For a recomendation, both of those I mentoned are good, SnS is a good action series with a side dish of tsundere romance that takes forever to go anywhere; Higurashi is a however mystery with a bit of horror. I do warn you though, while the anime is less harsh than the manga and VN for Higurashi, it does have some quite nasty scenes so veiwer decression is advised.

I'd say youtube the fingernail scene, if you can stomach that, you'll likly be fine.
