Yeah, they had a few good disk back when I was in High school. I even started my Tenchi collection because of the Dollar Store. XD
Hahah, you're welcome? XD I definitely have to add it to my cart next time I make an amazon purchase. :3

Stars was never released in the US. The reason they didn't was that it was too mature to tame down for the kiddies. ^^;; Which is sad... TT__TT

Ah, really? Guess I was always lucky because a good bit of my friends through high school and college collected anime and manga. We lended and borrowed things from one another quite a bit... Though in college, one of my suite mates was an avid collector. One weekend when we were alone, she kept knocking on my door, asking me to watch anime with her. XDD
After a while, it was pretty funny:
Suite mate: *Knocks*
Me: *Opens door*
Suite mate: I take it you know what I'm here for?
Me: ...Yes...
Suite mate: Do you accept?
Me: Yes.

------------
Here's the pics from my collection. Sorry that they're not very good pictures... I literally have almost no lighting in my room, so I had to use the flash on my camera.

ohmyGAWDDDDDDDDDD :O :O :O :O *has to pick self up off floor to continue*

First of all, awesome at your Gameboy Advance hangin out!!! haha

Second, I totally have 2 of those Poke balls also--from when the movies came out!!!! I have Pikachu and Pollywhirl!!!!! (I saw the first 3 movies in the theater. :3)

Third, that is ALL SORT OF AMAZING that you have all those Claymore manga!!!! O___O

And your pictures are FABULOUS, easily the most readable titles anyone's posted yet!!! (Apparently!) they're all lazy like me and photographed everything at once instead of shelf-separately!!!!!

I have to say I'm in total awe right now... I want to get a house and have extra bedrooms because I have far too much cool stuff to not be showing it off!!!!!!!!!! >.<

Oh yeah, and as for SM Stars, the 2 eps I saw were in Japanese Someone apparently knew someone who had a tape of the Japanese somewhere, clearly! lol I have seen Boy Sailor Scouts, I am and have been aware of their presence!!!!!! hahahaha Only by chance though!!!! (Second time today they've come up--I am absolutely in love with crunchyroll!!! ♥♥♥♥♥♥)

I can see why you dislike some english actors. Actually my two favorites male voices are greg ayers and David matranga. David fits a lot of roles perfectly, maybe you should look him up. As for female voice actors, well I do have favorites. There's one or two actresses that make the character sound a bit squeeky but I've seen enough of their work to know they can drastically change how they sound (Hilary haag & Monica rial). In my opinion the Japanese female voices seem to fit better and the english male voices seem to fit better as well.

I don't really watch too much in English "^_^ so even though I've actually seen a lot of the animes they voice, I wouldn't recognize the American voices LOL that your girl Monica is Pen-Pen in Eva 2.0 though!!! That's just plain cool.

I know a lot of people like the dubs, and I like them because it exposes more people who would never watch something subtitled to anime, but I wouldn't want to watch a dub of a Kurosawa film no sooner than I'd want a Japanese person to watch a dub of Gone With The Wind... It's just not the same...

I'm a huge fan of classic films and I will NOT watch Pan and Scan versions of them either... I care about the people on the sides of the screen! >.<

I watch a lot of english sub when I am alone and english dub when I am with friends. Dub is just easier to roll with in a group in my opinion. I don't pick any dubs by certain companies and I will make sure some of my favorite voice actors are in it. There's a handful that really always hits the parts spot on. Stuff from the AMV company, I don't really like. Funimation on the other hand, it seems like their voice actors dub in similar groups and it's either good or bad. I'll make an example, the anime Clannad dubbed by funimation is very accurate translation and great voice actors. The actors in that series seem to appear as a group in many others as well.

no point in selling it now, what i would get around 2 dollars used on amazon or .0000002 cents from game-stop.

Now on topic i have 3 anime sets that could easily make me 1000 dollars pre-owned because they are out of print. Higurashi complete box set, Karin Complete set and Familiar of Zero. Each one is selling over 200 dollars pre-owned on amazon and since genon USA is out of business and funimatino no longer produces these titles...being a collector of dvd's is great. Now on to something else that I own anime/game sound tracks

Just WOW O__O

I'm not lucky enough to own anything worth real money!!!! Doesn't mean I don't enjoy them any less though

In a group setting, unless you are around /serious/ watchers, I agree, English is definitely easier!!!! I can't keep my mouth shut long enough to watch in groups though!!! "^_^

I watched about half of Clannad, in English, but I dunno, I barely remember what it was about (love the ending!!! I remember that!!!)... I'm less inclined to finish an anime in English vs. Japanese. I think I have to pay more attention when I'm watching in Japanese, it's probably why I remember it better! I might give Clannad another shot, but probably in Japanese...

I mean, I first saw Mobile Suit Gundam 00 in English... but I knew I had to have the DVDs because it would be that much better uncut... It is. ♥

I like that the availability is there to go from one to the other though, that's why I started buying DVDs back in the day over VHS... VHS it's either one or the other. There was no flexibility... The duality of the DVD/Blu-ray is a great thing.

Actually, that gba is my nephews. XD Mine is under my desk, instead. ^^;;

Aren't they great? I only wish I would have got them all back then. ;__; I wanted the Pikachu, but I have Pollywhirl, Jigglypuff, Charizard and Mewtwo. I think they also had a togepi, too.. I faintly remember wanting it as well. I only got to watch the first movie in theaters. My mom didn't like Pokemon that much. XDD

When the anime first came out in Japan, I got really obsessed with Claymore, so I started mass buying the manga since I knew the anime had an anime only ending to the point that a sequel would be impossible. TT__TT But it's still really great! I'm really impatient for the 20th volume. ^^

Really? I'm glad, then! I thought for sure no one would be able to read a lot of the titles. ^^ I can't even read Simoun and Blue Drop. XD Though after posting this, I remembered that I forgot to take a pic of my Please Teacher boxset. It's hidden in my manga book shelf, so I forgot. ^^;;;

Me, too! I plan to always live alone, though, so I know I'll (hopefully) have a house filed with my anime, manga, figurines, wall scrolls and other random stuff some day. <33 I wanna build my own library/entertainment room! ^______^

Ah! That's pretty cool, then! I got to watch it all because of my suite mate. I think the Stars arc was one of my favorites(maybe because I just liked Seiya so much? XD )

I loved Clannad, that's one I haven't seen in Japanese. I usually watch both languages to see similarities and differences. However, one series that I'd say is better English dub is Full Metal Panic. It you have no idea what that is, its a comedy with a side of mecha and military. Except the second season, that's full blown comedy.

It's okay, we have 2 GBAs... and I gave my son my DS Lite... because Momma bought herself a DSi XL the day they came out. Momma has priorities!!! haha

Oooh I adore Jigglypuff ♥♥♥ My husband wrote on my face in red sharpie one while I was asleep... it was not as cute as I'd've imagined it'd be >.> I love Togepi too, oh my favorite little egg-y type pokemon!! ^_^ Lol, even by time the first movie came out in the theater, I was a wee old to be going to the movies with my parents... ^_^

As for Claymore, it seemed to me like they left the ending pretty clear that they /would/ make a sequel... Or at least that what I hope!!! ^_^

Lol, well the living alone thing never seemed to pan out for me hahaha, I'm married with a kid, so I have to share (a tiiiiiny!!!) space... We rent a small house, but my landlord is just awesome, and a good landlord is worth their weight in gold!!!

I would definitely like to watch Stars, but for the time being, I do believe that's improbable.

I have seen the ads while watching Full Metal Alchemist (apparently the term Full Metal was trending in anime?!), I'll add it to my ever increasing list of anime to watch

WOW you just took the wind right out of my sails!!! I might be able to hit up the husband... He really liked NGE too... I'll just probably have to get a used copy, which isn't that big of a deal I guess... if I still had my original copy, it would be WELL used!!! haha

Thank you for telling me, I had no idea!!!!!

Ug, now I remember why I hate looking this up... I can never figure out which box set to get ;_; I definitely owned the Perfect collection previously... But from what (I think?) I understand... the platinum collection is best... because... it includes... Death and Rebirth?!?! Yes, no?! The director's cuts of 25 & 26 are Death and Rebirth aren't they?!?! Maybe they're not?! UGH this is the #1 reason I haven't re-bought it yet!!!!! >.<

And why is End of Evangelion so expensive!?! :/

It's definitely worth buying the DVDs.

Sadly, I don't have a ton of them but if I really like it I'll usually find a way to own it.

K-ON!
Kenshin imported
Puella Magi Madoka Magica Volume 1 (2 is preordered)

Angel Beats Complete
CLANNAD Complete
(and finding out a way to get rid of Lucky Star DVD, Akira Blu-Ray and Nausicaa Blu-Ray: non-imported)
Redline
Evangelion 1 and 2 movies
Ghost in the Shell Blu-Ray (all seasons)
The World God Only Knows
Initial D Save

And frankly, digital distribution costs nearly nothing.... and makes.... nothing: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/feature/2012-03-09

O.o That Akira blu-ray looks pretty awesome, why would you want to get rid of it?!

And what's the difference between having something that's imported vs something that's not imported??

If you are using iTunes, you can simply re-download, for free, your anime from there. I don't think a file can get corrupt from computer reading that file.

Question: How can you view iTunes anime? Is it through a proprietary Apple viewer? If so, no thank you - if Apple or even just iTunes goes away, then that's it, the anime is unwatchable. Actually, the same issue exists for redownloading. I buy a lot of e-books and, although all the stores I buy from allow me to redownload the books, I never, ever count on that. Stores and companies go out of business. Plus, I know of at least a few titles that have been completely pulled from stores for whatever reason (in one instance, the author had issues with the publisher and asked them to stop selling her work - the books still haven't been put up for sale somewhere else, and, even then, it's not like that would make my download links usable again).

I know it might sound a bit weird that I buy a lot of e-books but still haven't jumped on board with downloadable anime, but that's partially due to my reasons for buying e-books and the kind of e-books I buy. I never buy DRM-protected e-books (no illegal DRM stripping necessary if I ever need to convert the files to another format), and I only buy e-book versions of things that either can't be gotten in print or the print versions are outside my book-buying price range, which is pretty much anything from small presses. I haven't been faced with those kinds of decisions in my anime-buying yet.

I have finished an anime called Mahoromatic: Full Metal Maiden. All three full metals are completely different.
