It goes both ways at this points losing People come in with huge chips on their shoulders because of something that happened 150-200 years ago. Listen what happened with slavery, KKK, NRA this incident etc is horrible . However the fact of the matter NAACP isn't helping nor is parading around ones color and using that as an excuse. I don't care what the color, religion, sex or race a person i solely judge a person based on who they are as a person. Was the boy racially targeted... well i can't get into the mind of an old white man but their is highly likely chance however we don't know unless the younger brother is willing to speak about this. Do i personally believe it was... well from the facts given there is a 85-90% probability it was since it was a gated community. Should this man be walking free... hell no there is enough evidence to detain him to look into the case as a homicide, it's just nice to know detectives have stop thinking.

"Losing People"? Nice. Also, uhhhh....racism ended 150-200 years ago? Shit, the KKK didn't even disband until 1944 (officially), and they're still around today.

Also...why would the younger brother know anything about it? I mean, yeah, it's impossible to know with certainty, I guess, but it'd be pretty damn hard to believe it was actually anything else.

It seems likely that racism was involved in this case, but people cry "racist" too easily. You say something insulting to someone, a lot of the time they say "Racist!" or "what is it 'cause I'm <insert race here>?" When a person, especially a white one, causes a person of another race to feel wronged, very often the person of a different race will say "it's because they hate <insert race here>s" even if it was their own fault. Kids throw the word around like they don't even know what it means.

I have to say though this case is really suspicious.. I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't exactly a hate crime, but the kid was targeted because he was vulnerable and black while Mr.Watch Captain was looking for a victim. And when i hear neighborhood watch captain i instantly think perfectionist soccer mom or a control freak snoopy nut job who watches your every move.

Not racism slavery, oh racsim still exist in all forums not bound by one race/color etc. I know the kkk disbanded officially but that doesn't stop underground groups from popping up 20 years ago they where matching 40 miles away from Louisville Ky, in small town called Lagrange which is close to where I live and where booed out but still exist. The westboro baptist church is the best example of recent racsim with huge activity.

To the topic at hand well the brother would have been an material witness to what happened or at least heard what happened. Also if this was a rich/gated community there should be cameras outside for security checks so it might be on tape as well. I am sure there is something going on or being investigate they are just not allowed to leak that to the press, still the man should be ror out on bail.

The shooter was getting away with it but that's about to change. witnesses and 911 tapes heard it all. I hope he gets a good welcome in prison.

This is exactly why America is fucked up. Any functioning adult can get a gun and kill everyone. Their health care is fucked and racism is still majorly prominent that not just abuse, but lives are being taken.
This is why i will never live in America or Canada (maybe...) because everyone can wield a gun... You just cannot feel safe.
