I have a Theory guys, If you look at the last episode, it shows the next couple of girls, one of them being Tenri. I was just thinking, but
Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide Seeing that in Tenri's arc, Diana shows up and tells about the goddesses, What if they (the studio) feels that they would have to make a 4th season because people would want to know all about that? Perhaps they don't want to commit themselves to doing that because like mentioned before, the show wasn't that popular in Japan, so why make more of a show that no one likes, let alone two more seasons? |

I started watching season 2 and I think it should stop there. It's a fun anime but I don't see it continuing because it's lacking depth. I'm glad it only has 2 seasons..if it were to continue we would have people complaining about how horrible it got.

Well , somewhere in season 2 , Keima said that " there is always seven girls " . So , since they have already done seven girls , it isn't likely that there will be a third season . But you'll never know , so just continue from the manga c:

I'm hoping really soon. I know sales didn't do well in Japan and whatnot, but it could make a comeback. I mean, look at "Moyashimon Returns" A direct sequel of the first season which aired in 2007, almost 5 years later. So I'm not giving up hope yet, and hopefully a season 3 will get green-lit...hopefully not as long as 5 years though. lol They didn't even get to the good part of the story with Tenri and the Angels. That part needs animated because it's so good and brings a halt to the generic harem stuff and provides an actual plot. But here's hoping.

Anime is more often produced "close to the wire", much moreso than live action shows in the United States.

maybe season 3 is after this second upcoming ova ep, i seen how baka to test's ova eps were a couple of months apart, and then in the fall of that year season 2 was released

Well, there was a recently announed OVA...I'm assuming if its sales do well, a third season could potentially be in the works for some time between 2013-2014.

Yes, I know there is an upcoming OVA; it's being packaged with the limited edition of the 19th volume of the manga in Japan.
I know that if they don't currently have any plans for a third season, then it being green-lit will hinge on the OVA's sales.
What I'm hoping for though, is that they already have plans for a third season, and its announcement will be a part of the OVA itself, just like the last episodes of both seasons giving sneak peeks for the future of the series.
