Yeah its pretty much follows the plotline directly from what I remember. Due to how the manga is written its easy and actually beneficial to the anime to cover all the conquests in detail, so there isn't really any empty space to fill. The spaces they do fill are generally the little side gag storylines like Yokkyun and the whole Elsie baking a cake thing that were in the manga. So I don't think there is any studio created plots at all in the anime from what I remember.

I'm stoked for the third season. I'm excited to hear the voices of Keima's targets. Also wondering if they'll touch the goddess arc with this season.

The OVA already started with that. It introduced Tenri and the goddess Diana.

Yeah that's true. But Keima doesn't know Tenri has a goddess. He thinks it's a runaway spirit.

I honestly kind of doubt it if they take any kind of care with the next string of conquests, unless they bump the season up to 24 episodes or something. Even though they covered Tenri in an OVA, I would expect them to have to at least gloss over her in the main series since shes too important, and at least two of the other conquests are extremely important to take care with, with another one honestly being mandatory even if they don't go into as much detail. At best we might end up with a cliffhanger ending at the end of the season with the tag team shocker when Kanon comes back to school.

I'm not even sure they planned on going that far though originally considering the girls shown in the credits at the end of season 2. They only showed characters up to the Ramen girl Sumire there and that would still leave 4 girls after that of which two are extremely important for different reasons, and the other two I believe are somewhat important as well as they are factored into how Keima comes to his conclusions when attempting to narrow down his search in the Goddess arc.

Yes on season 3

It didnt do well enough to get a season 3, but It was a good anime while it lasted. Lets be greatful for that!

Um you realize that a third season has been officially confirmed already right? Its is in the works for sometime in 2013.

The Kanon OVA spinoff will be out in march or so i think. Season 3 might not come before fall 2013.
