THE HUNGER GAMES [FILM]
Posted 3/24/12
I read the books months ago and I have to admit they did a damn good job on the movie.
There were some key points changed but eh what can you do.

*Spoilers ahead*
what changes did you notice from the book?

I'm actually sad to see that they didn't give Katniss and Gale more screen time together. One integral part of their relationship was that meeting place they went to where they could wait for one another. I mean they complimented each other and though there was no official relationship spoken of.. they became that great hunting team, That was enough for them.

I didn't like how they changed how Katniss got her mockingjay pin even though i only read the first book i know it has to do with a group going to try and take down the capitol so it was pretty stupid she bought it and didn't get it from her classmate. other then that the added dialogue was not that bad and i didn't mind most of the changes.

I liked the movie, however I was a little dissapointed with the mutts, since they did not resemble the tributes and the lack of soundtrack being used (or maybe I just didn't notice it...)

That being said: The actors/actressess did a great job, and Peetas camouflage (not sure how you spell it..) was amazing :D, also they did do a great job by telling the story from a third-person perspective.

So all in all, I was happy with how it turned out

I love the books a lot, and I went to see the movie with my mom who is also a fan of the books.

I really enjoyed the movie though I felt that they didn't have to change certain things, considering they added different things to fill in the slots. (How Katniss got the pin, mutts, lack of music etc.

Despite that, it was acted really well, everyone fir their roles ( even the more unconventional choices a.k.a Haymitch - who was seriously cute in the movie lol...

I'd give it an 8 out of ten.

I was seriously surprised when I watched this. Didn't read the books but I seriously enjoyed the movie. I heard that they seriously edited it up to get it to PG-13 rating, I would love to watch the unedited version and read the book. The moment the game started was seriously dark, it was hard to watch.

I'm having my doubts about this one. A lot of my friends are saying they didn't like the movie at all, but I guess I'll have to see for myself.

sad to say but one of my favorite parts of the book was SERIOUSLY tone down for the PG-13 but the part where Katniss gets the bow from the girl who was killed by the Tracker Jackers... well ya she had to break some of her fingers to get her to even release the bow. The pain she had felt before she died was excruciatingly painful.

I'm a huge fan of the books so i couldnt help but have high hopes that the movie will somehow meet my expectations
well it did 85% of the time
i was disappointed with the girl on fire scene
the costume was not even close to what i had pictured
i expected peeta and katniss to be engulfed in flames :S
the cave scene was adorable but it felt too rushed and i wonder if the movie goers noticed that katniss felt very uncomfortable while playing along to the "star-crossed lovers" act because having read the book and knowing the inner dialogue in katniss' head, it wasn't very clear to me.
acting wise jennifer, josh and the rest of the cast did a phenomenal job!
i could go on but in conclusion the pros have outweighed the minor cons
in the mean time im going to reread catching fire
p.s. i enjoyed reading all your thoughts on the movie fellow hg lovers :D
