FEEDBACK: New site Design
|
Some good and some bad. Nice to be able to filter shows using multiple genre tags, but one big problem with that area for me, the summary when you mouse over a show does not show the tags, nor a full summary. The most important part there was the tags on mouseover though, since genre tags aren't mutually exclusive.
I also like the fact you can now view all comments on the same page as the video instead of needing to open another tab or navigate away, and the markers for episodes you've watched is a nice addition. As for the new logo, I liked the old logo better, added a nice little bit of interaction too. |

I don't mind the new look overall, but I really wish I could still separate each series into the season it started on the site.

This new site is painful, just painful. It's like you let your Crunchyroll App designer develop your web page. You are aware we pay for this service because we want to, not because we don't know how to use torrents, right?
Also what's up with lame new CR icon? It's very boring and plastic looking. If i weren't such a lazy person, I would start a petition against this "Upgrade." Instead - maybe I just don't renew. At the very least you need to put the Recently Added section back, at most, restore the old site. update: I see "Updated" is identical to "Recently Added" except that now they open to each Anime's main page. In what way is that an improvement? As an IT guy who has worked directly with web dev's I can honestly say that the majority of changes you have made here I would have recommended against. Also, my best friend who happens to develop a number of our governments web pages gave me the old WTF look when I showed him the new site. Even with the tight leash he's on he would have found a way around some of these changes. The site is already dynamic; give us the tools to build our site to each of our individual personal tastes. |

I see the View All link on the Alphabetical listings now leads to a text page of all the shows. Much better!

It also links to the recent page. I'll pass your feedback along to development and design as well. |

Catching up. Please be patient.

@Bjaker
With the over whelming negative feedback I hope they listen. Force your dev to repeat the words "site optimization" and "creativity" until they get it. They are aware why we have links at the top of the page right? |

I'm a web designer front end developer and creative director. I can honestly say that this is a very poorly done redesign.
some feedback: 1. The old site had character and although you may think that what you have here is "minimalistic" and web 4.0 it comes off as dull and boring (note: keep your audience in mind and also the space in which your product sits). This new brand is very stale the old one had edge. 2. from a user UI perspective ... the most commonly clicked button on this site was probably "recently added" ... you need only look at google analytics to realize this. Yet you took this button away, de-emphasized it and changed the verbiage "updated" ...bad move because to me this says much less than recently added. cmon guys I know that this sort of feedback can be be hard when you take so much time to do a site redesign but most of this looks to be CSS changes so lets just do a SVN revert to revision and rethink this site design |

Well, I'm not going to lie but I do not like the new layout. The main part is the annoyance of finding favorite topics, categories, etc compared to before. Also, the whole design just looks kinda blend as someone else also mentioned.

I like the look of it but I don't like that you've taken out features - especially the button that lets you view the current season's anime.

I miss having the season category. It helped us to keep track of what was new each season. Also, what happened to the tags in the description box? They REALLY helped us to determine what was appropriate for our 12 year old...

Also, while All New-Anime was there on the front page, there's no way people would want to scroll all the way down just to see whats updated. When its updated, keep it up and front. Your audience is large, but I believe the ones who are subscribing are the ones who always keep current with the episode releases. This "edge" to your site is there before your redesign. Now I do applaud immensely for all the effort you guys put in for the redesign. And I saw the addition of the current episode number on updated section and I applaud that as well. However, the previous recently added page is still awesome since imho, its by far the best page that have function, design, and usability across any website I see everyday. |
