Well, if you sit down and and stare at the logo, really putting an effort into overanalyzing it, of course you're bound to come up with some unintentional interpretations. You could say its an anime eye, sushi slightly reminiscent of the old logo, sperm entering an egg, some celestial representations or Pac-man...

Though, all in all, it is still quite boring, bland and lacking any real character.

With /recent now being removed, is there a way to change to the old system? the updated section which I guess is the new replacement for /recent is a pile of shit

While the "Updated" section may make sense for some people, I still preferred the layout of the "Recent" section. It made it easier for me to eyeball the new shows and required less time to navigate to the page. I always thought that this was one of the features that other sites should adopt as it made it much easier to find shows. The new layout makes your site more similar to everybody else, which is both good and bad.

I also miss the sorting by season, that was a very sensible and logical way of sorting shows. Sorting by season also made it easier for me to discover new shows rather than having to search for them. The best way to introduce new features is to introduce them and then keep the old features for people who enjoyed them. Look at your web metrics to see who is using which feature to determine if the old method is used infrequently enough to merit removal.

If it takes paying more per month of your service to get these features back, I am willing to pay a higher rate. I know such features were probably discontinued due to their labor intensive nature but I want them, and I am willing to pay for them.

Anime Updated section: Could you all please change it back so that in this section on click it plays the newest episode automatically? instead of taking you to the series list requiring another click to play. I will further agree with past comments that the former "recent" sections options where better. I understand the design change and like it for the most part but this section needs several of the old features added back or exact same options just with your new site design.

Again, thanks for the hard work.

+1 to /recent

The recent view is what I bookmarked and that's how I use to find the shows I want to watch today. It worked very well. I can recognize new episodes instantly by the preview of the new episode. With a single glance, I can decide that there is a new episode I want to watch. (And often, this is how I know there's a new series, because the first episode looked interesting). I can't do that in the new /updated view because it is *always* the cover art for the series, and I'm not basing my watch decision on the series.

If I were selecting a series I want to watch, I would use /updated since I would be looking for a new series, not new episodes.

Please bring the /recent view back

Have to agree with the previous posters as well, I really do not like the recent->updated change. I guess that's putting it mildly though... I'd say it seems you really want to push users to use the queue to play new episodes.

Also, please bring back the filtering by season. It was by far the easiest way to spot shows that one might have missed. Now it's just a wall of covers.

Wow Crunchyroll, you guys really suck at this site update thing.

How many paying customers complaining does it take for you to stop screwing with the site.

Why remove recently added only days after saying don't worry it's still there. At the rate you're adding increased button presses, I really will have to consider passing up on renewing.

I just noticed the queue thing. Queues are great if I have push notification on my mobile device. Thing is, I usually watch these episodes on my, you know, my Big Ass 1080p Display with the Bad Ass Sound System instead of my smartphone.

If I want to watch several episodes in a row, it is usually the same series. Either I am catching up on episodes or I am starting a new series. I'm not going to jump around. That's probably why I don't use the queue in Hulu or Netflix, other than a dumping ground to remind me that I want to watch something.

Speaking of smartphones, it looks like Crunchyroll still has Recently Added in their app. I think I'll just use that for now. Please don't remove Recently Added from the app!

Maybe if their UX engineer looks at their usage metrics, this will show up in their stats :-/

The way the launch of the new layout was handled is evident of metrics not being properly considered, and raises questions about wether metrics were used at all.

Oh, and if you're going to have people use the queue more, at least make it function like Hulu's queue.

You know:

SELECT episodes.* FROM episodes
INNER JOIN member_queues ON episode.id = member_queues.episode_id
INNER JOIN members ON member_queues.member_id = member.id
WHERE member.id = <ME!>
ORDER_BY episodes.broadcasted_at DESC
GROUP BY episodes.series_id <----- Right there

Now the queue is where the cover art for the series would be useful ...

Love the new site design, however I would really like to see the option to sort by season brought back.

I agree! Can't think of why it was removed...

Yeah, neither can I. As someone who has had a premium account since Crunchyroll went legit, I like to go back and rewatch shows that I have watched in the past here, and sometimes I can't remember the name of a program, but can remember the season.

I agree with those wanting sort by season back, but also PLEASE bring back "Browse Anime By Publisher" too. This was one of my favorite sections for browsing titles, and so I am very disappointed it is gone.
