New Spring Titles Coming Soon!
|
Hopefully its just that keikawa screwed up because he's not used to Crunchyroll already having licenses in the bank for series that are going to start streaming the following broadcast season ... ... because that would mean those two titles can already be penciled in for Summer. pika-pika-shuuichi wrote: The only one I still follow is Sket Dance... ... Over the years there have been a bunch of great titles. So I really hope I find more that I will enjoy. Sket Dance is awesome, but hardly enough to keep me busy a whole week... XD I usually like following 2-5 series at a time. =P ... Sket Dance is one of the shows I watch if I'm caught up on the series I'm following more closely ~ I was starting to catch up on it, but then Crunchyroll picked up Puella Magica, and then it started streaming OZMA, and then I saw that Netflix got the last season of Doctor Who ... ... and now I'm falling behind on Sket Dance, again. With 12 boxes already up to to be filled, and possibly another eight to show up sometime if vague hints and rumors turn out to be correct ... ... And while I would love it if Chihaya Furu got a sequel this coming Fall, I'm pretty sure there'll be at least one new series showing up to replace Chihaya Furu in my week, and probably more than one. |

Opens tab to Netflix queue, searches "Doctor Who", checks for season 6 of Dr. Who, adds to queue. Thanks! Back on topic, given that they announced the continuing titles yesterday, I am expecting we will get at least one announcement of a new title by the end of the day. Also, I was curious if there had been any correlation in the past with titles that show up in ANN's season Spotlight with obvious English titles (i.e., Kids on the Slope vs. Sakamichi no Apollon) and titles that have been simulcast, or for that matter, titles in general that appear in their Spotlight. Looking back at the Winter Spotlight, I see all of the titles they featured were either simulcast or licensed (Daily Lives of High School Boys being licensed by NISA, but not simulcast), but that could be coincidence. Checking the Fall 2011 Spotlight, all the featured titles were simulcast, but Gundam Age tosses a monkey wrench into the works by not being simulcast to the U.S., Canada, etc.. Australia was included, however, so that may be the reason ANN was provided with info. Frankly, even if there is the "odd one out" this time around that is only licensed for later release or simulcast in an area that excludes North America and Europe, the "Featured" list of the Anime Spotlight Spring 2012 would please a lot of people. |

PLEASE before Funimation or someone gets a hold of it and ruins it with that horrible dubbing like they did for the first series. Even if CR got it that wouldn't stop a dub even then it wouldn't happen for 2 years down the line and the Japanese version would stay in existence plus no one will make you watch it (the dub) |

Yup. All the people coming up with theories that it was not "really" ending, just changing time slots, etc. ... the problem with the theories was "the Dog that Didn't Bark" ~ since Bleach had completely, totally caught up, that would have been a filler arc, and if they had been launching a filler arc, they would have been promoting it. There would have been "leaks" and teases and glimpses of artwork and etc. Whether they do something additional when the manga itself comes to an end ~ a finale broadcast series, an OVA series, a trio of movies, whatevers ~ they'll cross that bridge when they come to it ... so at this point in time, they've made no big announcement about the ending because they've got nothing they really want to promote. |

The name is from the official English site. I don't think there's any direct connection, but it's obvious that companies that bother with separate English sites/logos would want to promote their series internationally. I checked out the older spotlights too, but it's basically only Sunrise series that have English names/logos. I believe Sunrise makes English logos for all their series anyway, so that's why ANN would be using them. |

And first announcement is Space Bros., which is what I expected since there's really only this, Zetman Kimi to Boku and the soccer one that are premiering early enough to be announced this week.

And since Space Bros. and Zetman were announced available for license with English subtitles by the same licensor at the same time ... I'm hopeful that Zetman was part of a package deal and they are just doling out the announcements for dramatic impact. |
