Back onto the rape, we had this guy come in to our school to give all the girls in our year a talk on rape, and he taught us how defend ourselves.
He pretty much told us that if you fight back and scream real loud, you won't get raped. Rapists don't want to get caught, so they pick people who look like easy targets. Ones that don't fight back. This is where you manage to not get raped, because you prove them wrong and fight back and they piss off.
He told us heaps of statistics and crap because he's been studying cases for like, 20 years, and he told us that rapists rape because they want the power. Looks have nothing to do with it. He also said that the most common form of rape is date rape i.e. Raped by someone you know.
So dressing up in a mini skirt pretty much always has absolutely nothing to do with it. It's just something everyone seems to assume.

So a woman decides to wear a revealing piece of clothing, and that gives someone the right to HURT her? Right, got you.

I was discussing something along the lines of this with my boyfriend the other day. He said that if you put something in front of someone who's prone to doing something bad with it (i.e. a gun in front of a murderer,) you are encouraging their behavior. I don't believe that's true. I could set anything anywhere and a person has to DECIDE they want to do wrong with it to even do wrong in the first place. They could decide to destroy the gun, or they could decide to shoot the next person who comes along. In my mind, your intent means more than your actions (and claiming you had good intentions when you didn't doesn't count.)

Now, if you set the gun in front of them BECAUSE you wanted them to kill someone with it, I think you should be blamed. However, that does not excuse them from actually killing the person - you can do wrong mentally as well as physically.

And you can't entirely compare this to a gun unless you have some other use for one - a woman could be wearing a short skirt because it's 110 degrees outside and she has no other clothes. You don't know, and shouldn't be bothering people in the first place.

Hmm... well lets say x scenario for example, said girl goes to party dressed x way gets drunk along with guy friends then wakes up to find out she had sex with them is not rape.

Ive never met a woman who was asking to get raped regardless of the length of her shorts
