A woman can wear whatever she wants, nobody should deny her that right. No woman (and nobody in general) should ever have to go through sexual assault either, and a man should never force a woman to do something against her will, especially something as intimate and personal as sex. In fact, not wearing a short skirt does not guarantee a woman will be safe from sexual predation because there always are and always will be perverts out there with the nerve to resort to such despicable acts. I don't see how you can blame a woman for one man's corrupt mind; if a man is seriously so perverted that the site of a woman in a miniskirt is enough to make him rape her, than he should be the one punished. However, if a woman wants to wear tight, uncomfortable, skimpy clothing, she should know what kind of message she conveys and that is an undeniable fact.

I wonder how everybody knows what goes through the mind of a sex pervert? I can personally say I don't care what a cute guy wears, he's attractive any way.

Okay...time for "the independent loner" to throw his two cents in.

It's one thing to wear short skirts, jeans, etc to look good. But it's how you act and present yourself in such attire that is a whole different ballgame. If a woman knows she's not a slut and isn't "asking for it", then she won't act in such a way and give the guy(s) a dirty mean look.

But....man I've seen this too many times, where there are women out there that are dressing up in these tight outfits and acting in such a way that is telling everyone that they just want attention because they've had too many dudes break up with them. The worse is with the chubbier chicks. My god, it doesn't get more desperate or disgusting than that.

Then there's others like the chick's plumbers crack and the tramp stamps, things like that.

And I'm not suggesting that they get raped. It's just that when they act the way they do and purposely dress themselves in such clothing because their self-esteem is so low with the "woe is me" mentality, then they shouldn't be complaining if a single dude like me is looking at their chest or their ass or w/e. It's tacky, desperate, and doesn't make them a lady at all.

There's gonna be perverts out there no matter what. Same with rapists. The rapist doesn't give a dragon's balls what she is wearing. But that doesn't mean some stupid woman should be going out in the world and being tacky, and not expect to get a bunch of male attention.

Where? I'm not talking about within this thread either, because the question is, why was this even brought up?

This issue is as old as the first law for dealing with rape. However. The modern habit of referring to 'Rape' as "Sexual Assault" is something that is still being criticized. In some Law sexual assault and Rape are sometimes also considered to be two different crimes (although actually part of the same single crime). However, your referring to any part of it as "sex" (as you did at the end of your final sentence) shows how deeply the male Rape culture has become ingrained and is gaining ground. The problem being words and their meaning. Sex is sex. Rape is not sex. It is violence. I would consider any man who said that "she asked for it" (I know that you did not say that) to be someone I would immediately be suspicious of having Raped a female at least once in their life. With the porn industry steadily gaining media support in a "progressive" culture where now females are steered to being "sex positive" all of this is only going to worsen with time which is quite easy to see. For the boys, the rape of males by other males is also slowly rising now so you have something to look forward to in the future (Rape will affect you too). Overall, depressing to say the least.

It doesn't matter what they're wearing, of course. Really short skirts is like showing off, most women are like this, not saying this as a generality, it's just how it is. Some women like to do it on the first date too, or some people get involved in one night stands and put themselves in danger all the time, and blame others for their carefree attitudes.

Not condoning the act, or saying that this is the case for all women, but women are just as sick as men, theres as many sick women as there are men, some ask for it, some do not, if you don't wanna be part of this class, don't act like it, it's that simple. Just like women will go around spouting nonsense that men are all aholes, when in a generality they never speak up and talk to them, and expect them to read their minds and crap, immaturity and perversion goes with any sex.

Look I'll tell you this from a dude's perspective.

Let's say two girls come in on the subway and sits in front om me. One wears regular jeans the other wears a skirt so tight that her ass is hanging out (lol, sorry).
In this case I might cast a glance or more on the girl wearing skirt then I would on the girl wearing jeans for instance. Regardless of their personality obviously, 'cause I don't know them. Now this is from me, a normal guy.

Now let's say that the potential rapist sits next to me and sees the same girl with the skirt. Do you think he would notice the girl in jeans or the girl in the skirt with her newly shaved legs?

I'm not saying I know how this motherless person is thinking. Just that YOU should know that there are people who are not as stable in their mind as the majority and that you should think twice of how you should dress. This is Earth, not Utopia.

There are people in this world who are stupid, insane, impulsive, and/or violent. Of course it doesn't help that there are cultures were a persons worth, rights and even their dignity as a human being seem to be entirely dependent on their gender. What the OP has found, is yet another example.
