I'm pretty sure rape isn't something that you can ask for.

That is really stupid! it makes no sense at all !

It kinda does when you understand a bit how the human mind works. =P

Well, I should've specified, it makes no sense for them to prohibit women using mini-skirts, when that's not the problem.

Surprisingly you can ask to get raped..... take look into rape fantasy.... you can pay someone to rape you (but that being said its "safe rape".... I know don't make much sense but they use condoms no knifing/stabbing no real physical violence unless asked for it).

First i'm a guy, and me looking at a girl with a small skirt would never constitute me saying "shes obviously wants to get raped". It pisses me off when people try to use that as a excuse. People need to have self control, and anyone who rapes someone Deserves the most painful of deaths

On an individual scale? No, not likely. Its just the fashion of today.
If you look at the big picture though, thats pretty much why skirts are so short, to reveal (or get close to revealing) that part of their anatomy.
40 years ago if a woman wore a skirt of length that women wear now, she would have been shunned; called a whore or prostitute or slut.

If skirts have gotten this short in the last 40 years, the male in me can't wait to see what it will be like in another 40 years, but the fact I am apart of this society makes me hates to see the social degeneration. Idiocracy anyone?

Are women asking to be raped by wearing short skirts? Obviously not. No woman is going to get dressed hoping her skirt is short enough to make someone attack her in a dark alley. Not only is that stupid, but it's really the most basic form of common sense no matter which side of the fence you fall on.

Not only is it common sense that such nonsense is untrue, but it should also be common sense that of the vast population of planet Earth, only a very small percentage of mentally unstable individuals believe such foolishness. But there always have been and always will be ignorant people who believe ignorant things.

Do you honestly believe that such a person would watch a youtube video or read a forum post and then snap his fingers and say to himself "Darn, I really thought that's what it meant. There goes my plans for tonight". Taking the time and effort to make such an obvious statement is just pointless.

However, dressing provocatively makes a woman more of a target than a woman who is dressed conservatively. That is not my opinion. That is a statistically based fact. In that regard, she is asking to be raped in the same sense that someone driving too fast is asking for a speeding ticket. It's obviously not what they want. In fact it's what they don't want. But they're still asking for it. Figuratively speaking of course.

That said, I like women in short skirts. I think it's sexy. Any woman wearing one in my presence is under my protection whether she knows it or not. Though obviously it's almost never needed. Most women will go through life never having been subjected to such a horrid experience. Though there will be some women who will be forced against their will to endure such torment. And as sad and ridiculous as it may be, if she were wearing something different, her assailant might have chosen a different woman. That's not fair. That's wrong. That's life.

Well listen , you women think of it as fashion and freedom , but men will ALWAYS think of it in the sexual way , and some guys wont be able to hold their sexual urges and will go for rape , we men are weak when it comes to sexual things & I believe women should dress modestly to protect themselves from our strong sexual urges , might be fashion for you , but its as close as it gets to a strip tease to us

Okayy, I think it's time to carry some really effective pepper spray.

True no one should be raped because of what they wear. There are a lot of people I see that wear a lot of short , tight clothing ON PURPOSE.
Though that wont change anyone from raping you.
Life what if they forgot to do laundry and all they have are short skirts, or all they can afford anything but that.
I think it's sad that this is happening.
If that was happening in the United States heck I wouldn't know where to move, If i could anyways.

They wear skirts to show off and attract some attention from males or their significant other, (exceptions being school uniforms) but its too bad that they also attract some unwanted attention. I know I know. derp.

Any woman or girl could get raped. Sexual predators don't care. I mean, really, that's no excuse for the rapist's barbaric, immoral, illegal behavior. Women of all sizes & shapes , and all ages have been raped. Woman wearing all types of clothing have been raped too. Again, it doesn't matter WHAT the person is wearing, predators don't care about those kinds of things.

Yes, the women are trying to attract male attention with revealing clothes, but that doesn't mean that they're going to attract a rapist or anything. The wrong kind of attention? Yes. But rapists? Not generally.

Women are not asking to be raped when they are scantily clad, but to claim that wearing revealing clothing does not increase the chances is false. We all can accept that sexy clothing arouses sexual attention; that's why its worn. If a woman is by her own choice arousing sexual attention, there is an increased chance that she will be raped. The risk of rape grows substantially if she is traveling alone on foot, at night, or through a bad neighborhood.

Every choice a person makes has an element of risk. Whether it's a financial decision, a relationship decision, a career decision; or yes, even a fashion decision. Women aren't free from this truth. If a woman decides to ignore the risk of rape or assault, then she has cast her lot for fortune to decide. It's not pretty, or popular, but its the truth.

Who is more likely to be raped?
An 18 year old girl at home with her family, watching television in her room.
An 18 year old girl dressed provocatively, walking from club to club with her best girlfriend at midnight in the bad part of town.

Frankly, in the second example rape is much more likely regardless of what she is wearing, but the reader has to admit; it doesn't help.

I am in no way condoning crime against women.
