ehh.. looks like i am going to be only interested in Kokoro Connect. Kids on the Slope, Hyouka, Another, Inu x Boku SS kept me interested.
2012's anime is not as good as the 2011's. I'll wait till I find something that interests me or when Gintama is coming back because I miss the show, which I think affected my sense of watching anime lately when season 5 ended on the autumn/spring.

@ llamaben It's possible that getting a package deal for Dog Days had more contractual complexities that normal simulcast contracts, and thus it took longer. That or it took longer to work out the sublicense (I am thinking Sentai licenses it, but I won't rule out Aniplex of America either).

I also noticed that the publisher for Hakuouki Reimeiroku is Geneon. And that strikes me as interesting. (although it is obviously a sublicense from Sentai and seeing the other seasons make their way to Crunchyroll would not surprise me).

I don't think there's any special meaning. Aniplex simulcasts are often announced after they start - Mitsudomoe, No 6, Working!! - but they always seem to catch up.

Updates to initial message:

Moved Hakuoki Reimeiroku from "Other announced simulcasts" to "Current Crunchyroll simulcasts"
Added Dog Days' to "Announced Crunchyroll simulcasts"
Updated availability information for free members for Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse, The Ambition of Oda Nobuna, and YuruYuri Season 2
Added link in "Series list" section (inside spoiler) for website that displays current time and date in Japan

Note: The simulcast for Hakuoki Reimeiroku was still over 2 hours away when I posted this. I felt it was better to go ahead and list it in the current simulcasts section than have it incorrect not long after I posted this update. I also removed it from the "Other announced simulcasts" section, as it seems whenever CR simulcasts a show, TAN does not stream it until much later (i.e., past the window I would list as a simulcast).

This isn't a CR simulcast question in particular (really applies more to Funi but I asked there and still haven't gotten a response... I'm sure there are some people here who also experience the frustration of that Site so I figured I had a better chance getting a response here.) Is there a difference between the licenses between Hulu and Hulu plus? I ask because they post their simulcasts also on Hulu, they do not appear available on Hulu plus, such as last seasons Sankarea, Jormungand, Lupin, A.O., etc... Any idea? Just been trying to get the most out of a Roku and although they announced the app for the end of this month/ beginning of next, with the track record thus far (such as the fabled Elite upgrade to fix all the problems that has been on the way for months now) I'll believe it when I install it.

As far as I know about Hulu, the regular Hulu content is cleared to be distributed by PC and the Hulu Plus content has been cleared to be distributed on mobile devices, Roku, etc. Guessing that Funimation wants to have their Elite Subscribers to be the only ones who can access their simulcasts via mobile devices, and then they make them available on Hulu Plus later.

I don't use Hulu because I really hate that they make you see ads even when you are paying them for a subscription. Maybe I'll eventually bring myself to get a subscription so I can watch some Funimation shows.

If you visit the page on Hulu for any of the Funimation shows, you'll see this dreaded message:

Availability: We currently don't have the rights to make this show available on your TV or mobile devices — request to be notified if it becomes available in Hulu Plus.

A quick check of several Viz and TAN/Sentai shows indicates those are available on TV and mobile devices via Hulu Plus. I note even ToraDora from NIS America can be viewed on TV and mobile devices with Hulu Plus, so Funimation appears to be the odd man out.

If you wanted to try it out Hulu Plus, now would be a good time, as they are currently offering their longest free trial period (2 months):
https://secure.hulu.com/plus/xbox2

With that much free time, I'll probably give it a shot myself.

@ TheAncientOne Thanks for letting me know about that two month free trial on Hulu. I am tempted to take advantage of it(if only to try to catch Index on my PC and Rinne on my phone or PC)

Horizon II's first episode was put up but still no simulcast time yet. Utakoi's page now has it being simulcast Mondays 2 PM EDT/ 11 AM PDT which means that it isn't a delaycast anymore.

I think I'll sign up for the trial after midnight tonight so that it will expire on my birthday.

That is, assuming they literally mean two months and no 60 days.

Thanks for letting me know about Horizon. I needed to update the availability info for Humanity Has Declined (Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita), and will have to update the simulcast time for Utakoi as well, so hopefully by later tonight when I do that, they will have a time listed for Horizon.

Horizon 2 aired at 12 PM EDT today; I think it was listed since last night.

Seeing as there is no news about CR's acquisition of the Chinese animation, I guess it's not a simulcast title but just an extra. It seems fairly interesting and I'm a big fan of its genre - wuxia. It's probably heavily history orientated and has magical martial arts (wuxia).

I got tired of the "web only" for a lot of series on Hulu plus (outside of the "because you are xbox you suck and have to pay for this which would be free on your computer" message. and of course the ads). but yes I reaaaaaally got tired of finding a series I wanted to watch that is NOT allowed to be on "mobile".. and since when is an Xbox 360 exactly mobile?

XBox would more likely fall under TV(or console but the message quoted said TV or mobile). Hulu being run by a bunch of TV networks means that they would want to make sure they are not competing with themselves with Hulu Plus. That or they are just really bad at implementing Hulu Plus correctly.

Of course, Hulu is aware of their anime watching audience since they've mentioned how popular certain titles are with them. They could certainly do better to address the anime fandom(then again, so does Funimation. I haven't checked it for about a month but does their mobile app still suck?)

I know that the Youtube channel for Funi doesn't work on the Youtube ap on the Xbox (citing mobile again) and most of the content on Hulu is "web only" rendering a Hulu Plus paid account for my Xbox also useless. I'm just angry that they categorize the console as a "mobile" device when clearly it's not. Someone needs to change that internally because I haven't seen a portable xbox anywhere
