Why is ep 2 of SAO being released 5 hours later than ep 1 was???

I assume that someone at CR misinterpreted the contract terms and they released the first episode earlier than they were supposed to, or the licensor asked for a revision due to complaints from some of the other stations, and CR agreed. That new listed simulcast time is equivalent to 5:30 AM on Sunday in Japan, which per the broadcast schedule would be 92 minutes after the broadcast on MBS ends.

Thanks for pointing out the change, as I will need to update the initial message to reflect that.

The new time roughly lines up with the MBS broadcast (+ Aniplex's extra 1 hour delay), but a later MBS broadcast didn't affect the simulcast times of the previous series in this timeslot (Nisemonogatari and Fate/Zero).

I can only hope that it's some sort of error. I'm sure I've said this before, but a delay of a few hours that pushes a series outside my normal watching zone is the type that annoys me the most... Especially on a series that I was looking forward to...

Because of the hard work of Crunchyroll getting licenses and the affordable premium membership, I have been able to completely stop any illegal watching on the dozens of other streaming sites. I had to limit myself to 15 shows per week so I would not die from overwork, and with the 2 Funimation streams and 1 Viz, Crunchyroll has 13 shows that I am watching, and I am soo glad this summer season is even more awesome than its previous others seasons

http://www.funimation.com/rojas/blog/binbogami-ga-and-aesthetica-of-a-rogue-hero-simulcasts-to-start-on-funimationcom/4242701

Starting tomorrow:

Bonbougami-ga airs 11:50 A.M. CT (12:50 P.M. EDT) on Fridays.

Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero airs 10:30 A.M. CT (11:30 A.M. EDT) on Mondays.

Disappointed with how Funi handles "simulcasts" but at least they're finally releasing the show. I may end up relying on fansubs to watch in a timely manner but I think I'll spread shows throughout the week so I don't have to go through a bunch on Friday or Sunday.

I sent a message to customer support asking why SAO is later than normal and they said that its because of a sporting event. They also said that its only for episode 2 and 3.

I took a look at the TV guides for all 8 stations it airs on (on Saturdays), and they all had Sword Art Online airing at it's normal time except for MBS, which was delayed by 15 minutes. Maybe it's unscheduled, or maybe it's a precautionary measure in case a sports program goes overtime (last month CR released an episode of a series 3 days before it aired in Japan - I'll refrain from naming the series as I don't believe the leak was made public).

Whatever it is, it may also mean other series are delayed too.

I checked the listed simulcast times for all other new summer series when I updated the initial listing of the simulcast time for SAO, and the only other one that had changed was PES.

Not sure if anyone has asked this question yet but does anyone know where i can watch "Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate" and " NAKAIMO - My little sister is among them!"? I know they both are not getting the greatest reviews but i would like to give them a chance! If anyone knows where i can watch them i would appreciate it. Thanks

There is no current legal stream for either, and listing or linking to fansub websites is against forum rules.

Thanks @TheAncientOne, i'm not looking to do anything illegal. I just wanted to know if there was anywhere that was streaming those shows! Sucks that there is not, but again thank you for your help!

P.S.- these are the first two posts i have ever had in the Crunchyroll forum! And i don't think they will be my last!

Since Ebiten was given a Spotlight at ANN, that makes me wonder if either Sentai or Funimation will license it and/or it being streamed. Seems like that and NakaImo are the only two that have been given a Summer spotlight that have not been licensed or streamed.

Makes me think that Crunchyroll could announce it Monday and be a few days late with it or Funimation could announce it in a few weeks at Otakon and then take at least 10 more days to actually put up the stream since they seem to think "simulcast" means within a few months of broadcast. Thankfully Crunchyroll doesn't usually have the kind of delays Funimation has.

Although NakaImo could always pull an Idolm@ster and be streamed with a three-week delay or something like that. I just hope that the remaining box isn't another J-drama.
