I just hope we can see continuation of some series that were left long ago or Re-Makes, Aka Air Gear and Kenichi or Samurai X but since these two last are getting ovas's who knows maybe it will happen. Summer is perfect just as these spring there were a lot of surprises.

I truly wish there could be a true end to Air Gear because it was rather amazing anime although I highly doubt it. As for Kenichi they are suppose to be releasing a remake OVA which I think is scheduled for release this summer.

It would take a miracle for this line-up of summer shows to even compare to the pure awesomeness of the Spring 2012 season. This is has been one of the best seasons I have seen in years, a very solid line-up all across the board in many different genres (especially slice-of-life). So far the Summer 2012 line-up seems quite generic, more emphasis on the
forgettable but entertaining than overall excellence. :-/

Traditionally, Fall and Spring are supposed to be the stronger seasons, with most half-year series premiering either Fall or Spring, and the strongest single-season series also often programmed for Fall and Spring.

Those are not absolute rules ~ sometimes a half-year series is premiers in Summer or Winter, like Legend of the Legendary Heroes and Bodacious Space Pirates, but that seems like counter-programming, trying to take advantage of the normally weaker Summer or Winter competition to stand out from the crowd.

With Spring normally a bit strong, if you add in the "cross-season" series is a pretty good one like Bodacious Space Pirates, and the second half of an expensively animated series like Fate/Zero, done in split seasons for financial reasons ... then if noitaminA turns up an Ace, suddenly its a very good season indeed.

Code Geass: Akito the Exiled debuts August 4:
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2012-04-27/code-geass/akito-the-exiled-to-debut-on-august-4

I believe that's the second Code Geass-related anime to come out this summer, and both appear to be OVAs(the Akito one is rumored to be a OVA series released like Gundam Unicorn)

i think chances are sentai will get hakuouki since they got the previous seasons/OVA's and viz will get SAO since they got the authors other work accel world and its doing decent for them. i also think that sentai will get both the noitamina shows and sub license them to cr like they did with this season. i have a feeling they will get muv love since i remember hearing awhile ago the site mentioned something about a north american simultanious release (i might be getting it confused with something or im just wrong)

Not sure about Viz getting Sword Art Online , it is an Aniplex title(A-1 is one of the in-house studios for Aniplex) and they may just decide to keep it for themselves and let Aniplex of America release that. I'd say AoA or Funimation(if Aniplex decides to let someone else license it) would be the most likely, and an outside chance of Sentai or Viz.

Hmmm...if Sentai got Moyashimon Returns , then naturally they'd also try for the orginal series. Funimation has the live action version of it, but hasn't announced that they have the original. I wonder if they'll try for getting both in a package deal and give Moyashimon the Princess Jellyfish treatment. I can easily concur with Sentai looking at getting Natsuyuki Rendezvous and releasing it sub-only(josei usually doesn't sell. Princess Jellyfish is more of an exception than the rule)

While, I'm responding to you, I'll mention that as a Fall 2012 minor update that Countdown now lists K and the fourth season of Hidamari Sketch( Hidamari Sketch x Honeycomb ) under confirmed for Fall.

true but they were both announced at the same time so their both probably being funded by dengeki so it might of been a packaged deal also sentai has been licensing their fare share of aniplex titles too so we shouldnt rule them out on getting SAO i think funis deal with noitamina is long since dead so we can count them out of any noitamina titles unless their sequels to shows they got. and about K im thinknig sentai will get it too since its by the same studio as mardock scramble.

Well if Dengeki is the one handling international distribution, then a package deal for Viz would be something I'd expect(same author after all). If Aniplex is handling SAO while Sunrise is handling Accel World, then it would make it more difficult for Viz since Aniplex likes to release their own stuff these days(although there are exceptions, like Funimation still releasing Full Metal Alchemist anime and Sentai did license Inu x Boku SS and NIS America licensed Occult Academy although that could have been done through TV Tokyo). Since Aniplex also shares better than Viz(and these days Aniplex is just better than Viz, I mean they are re-rereleasing OreImo on DVD. Great move!) as far as Crunchyroll goes, I guess I am hoping for Aniplex or Sentai over Funimation(although I still occasionally buy from them) and Viz(I really hate Viz for the Monster debacle among other things)

OK, I just wanted to mention that Moetron has their Anime schedule for Summer 2012 out, and YuruYuri 2 (I am not going to be bothered to find the keys to do the musical notes) and Blood Lad appear on their schedule. And hopefully Version 1 of Animucharts comes out this weekend:
http://www.moetron.com/2012/04/29/summer-2012-visual-guide-and-anime-schedule/

YuruYuri 2 having a PV out really does make it seem like it is a Summer 2012 series.

Wow, there are four shows I'm really interested to check out!

That's a great surprise, 'cause most of the time I end up with one or none to watch. I hope so much the shows will be more in "serious" tones rather than comedy&romance
