I can't vote yet
I need to think about this. In all honestly I love Edward more as a character, but it I can't decide if I like his character more than Spike. *Big heaving sigh*I will come back to this one. Edward is in all honesty ties with Spike for why I love him. He's my second fav (after Okarin). *Sigh again* I will vote in morning. |

SPIKE! : Because
1. I can't believe Kenshin lost 2. Spike is way cooler than Ed 3. Ed is cool and all but did I say Spike is cool? 4. He's a space cowboy 5. Ballad of fallen angels need I say more? |

My life has become a never ending game of "illegal or just frowned upon?"

Spike. Prefer the sound of shells falling on the floor and well-timed plastic explosives (Cowboy Bebop) over whining about being short...amen.

Edward is the guy who beat Kenshin >:-D LOL Nice avi btw Spike knows martial arts and Cowboy Bebop is directed by the same guy who directed Samurai Champloo Shinichirō Watanabe |

I sat in deep meditative silence over this batttle over who to choose. (lie) Basically I decided since Brotherhood and the manga finished I love them both equally. They are on two different levels chracter wise.
So I'm going to settle the matter, between the storylines. I rarely watch random sitcom type shows, because I ONLY care for plot and story, so it makes sense to choose this way. Major Brotherhood and Bebop spoilers inside..Major! Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide They both had a good conclusion and resolution. The ending of Bebop is one of those "open endings" with Watanabe wanting you to draw your own conclusion about what happened to Spike. I'm one of the ones who feel that since we don't know where Vicious stabbed him, it may not be a fatal stab, and also he could have just been collasped out of exhaustion. And since the Director said it's up to your interpretation I don't think either side is wrong. I mean the show was full of soooo many hidden meanings, symbolisms that I could write a thesis paper on each episode. It all tied together wonderfully. It's one of those shows that haunt you with the goodness. FMA was the same way. The first series haunted me. I thought it was a good conclusion, but it was one of those ones, where you feel a pang in your chest but you accept the ending as the only way. And then Brotherhood comes out, and it all changes. It has a happy, realistic ending. And giving up his alchemy powers was the perfect bargain for Al's life. They had did something terrible, and they needed to pay a high price to get it back. It was fitting, and the series had a happy conclusion. I love series that are dark, heart wrenching, and with a dash of humor. Brotherhood and Bebop both had it. But I want my dark stories to have a happy or good resolution, and they both did. But the story of Ed and Al, the story of repenting for grave mistakes, the story of using your knowledge and skills to help others/the world, of friendship, of loss, and accepting that there are some things that no matter how powerful you are that man just can not and should not do...touches me just a smidge more. So...I'm going with Edward this time. Watching Steins;Gate in fact, made me pick him over Spike, because it just resonated the reasons in me why I love Edward. If I had watched something like Darker Than Black last week, than maybe I'd pick Spike. Maybe I'll pick him over Edward in future, it is definitely possible, as it is a equal love. But Edward...this vote is for you. |
