Puella Magi Madoka Magica
Review I was actually going to stay far far away from this anime until I read a review that said it has "Dark Elements". It does. The loli theme that I thought was going to be in this anime was actually pretty understated besides the OP and the scenes of transformation. The art at certain points in the anime is actually reminiscent of Gankutsuou so when I saw that, I was sold. The story delivered in a BIG way. Trying to find away around spoilers but I simply can't. I think most people know about it but just incase an innocent passerby glaces at this review, I won't say more. I will just reiterate - "While the animation, loli characters, and the idea of "magical girls" kind of repulsed me, I am glad I watched this series to the end." It also got me to like a character I hated at first and I always enjoy that for some reason. Rating 9.5/10 Recommend? YES! push past the surface and there is a rich story underneath ... to think it was all done in a way that felt semi-detailed and complete in 12 episodes is hard to fathom. |

Name of Anime: Birdy The Mighty: Decode Comment / Review: This was a solid series. Even though the plot(typical space agent fighting crime and solving a mystery) has been done before, it still managed to have a few plot twists and keep my interest. Where the series excels is in the action and strong characters. The way the protagonist manages the "changes" happening in school as well as on and off of Earth were quite amusing. My biggest gripe with the series is that it didn't pick up until 1/2 way through the 1st season, but after that, the story gels very well and was worth watching. Rating:8/10 Recommended: Yes |

Rating:8/10 Recommended: Yes I would like to add that Decode is the anime adaptation of the manga author's remake of the series in 2003 from the original one in 1985, which by the way was also animated into 4 ova episodes in 1996. Just clearing that up. Anyway. Name of Anime: School Rumble Comment/Review: A romance comedy. The jokes work on multiple levels which makes it appealing. The first season mostly focuses on the two main characters Harima and Tenma with their love problems, but also goes into a little about the supporting characters. The second season focuses more on the supporting characters from the first season and of the two main characters mainly Harima and his relationships. It was set up for a third season but it got cancelled due to various reasons. Regardless, the two seasons that are there are solid enough to not need a third season in my opinion. Rating: 9/10 Recommended: Yes |

Well, been awhile since I posted on this thread as last few series I've watched isn't really worth mentioning. Anyways...lately:
Name of Anime: Shiki Comment / Review: Well, this series kinda blowed me out of the water. Originally, I thought it would be one of those typical vampire series like that shit Twilight but this one takes it to another level. Combined with good horror elements and that eargasmic soundtrack, I am proud to say that I enjoyed watching this series. This series is quite unique and after I watched it, I'm considering re-watching. The anime can be closely compared to Higurashi, another one of my favorites due to their similar setting and mood. The animation is alright but not something you'll fan-boy/girl over. But that soundtrack? One of the best OST I've heard. The real thing I liked about this series is that it doesn't fall into the typical romance or red string of fate or w/e the hell you like that to call that. Instead, it employs psychological elements highlighting human capacity in an intelligent way. Overall, great series if you can take some of the gore and is a fan of psychological mystery fiction with thriller-like endings. Rating: 8 out of 10 Recommended: Yes |

Pretty good for its time, though it has different character designs, character personalities are changed a little, and the plot is different. |

Starry Sky.
Plot (of the game) from Wikipedia: Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide Tsukiko Yahisa is the first female student to enroll at Seigatsu Academy, a former all-boys school specializing in astronomy. She is closely watched over by her childhood friends, Kanata Nanami and Suzuya Tohzuki, who often protect her from the male student body. Throughout the games, she befriends other young men whose personalities are based on the Western zodiac constellations. In the first game, Starry☆Sky~in Spring~, not long after Tsukiko transfers to Seigatsu Academy, a half-French boy named Yoh Tomoe follows suit to pursue her. This action stirs up emotions from Kanata and Suzuya, both of whom had long loved Tsukiko. In the second game, Starry☆Sky~in Summer~, Tsukiko has joined the academy's archery club. As she practices for the summer competition, she simultaneously solves the problems between her teammates (Homare Kanakubo, Ryunosuke Miyaji, and Azusa Kinose). In the third game, Starry☆Sky~in Autumn~, Tsukiko becomes involved with three teachers at her school (Iku Mizushima, Naoshi Haruki, and Kotarou Hoshizuki). The last game, Starry☆Sky~in Winter~, details Tsukiko's involvement with the student council, which includes Tsubasa Amaha, Kazuki Shiranui, and Hayato Aozora. So basically, the anime focus on Tuskiko's interaction with the 13 guys. Comments: I really enjoyed the character's interactions, and the art is great too. And the ending was kind of sad which left off a greater impact. Now it left me wanting to play the games from which it was taken from. :/ Rating: 9 |

Rating: 8 out of 10 Recommended: Yes I just finished this series up last night. I think it was amazing, but it was certainly the most disturbing anime I ever seen. It is so dark and the end in particular is so gory that it makes Higurashi and Another seem like a happy family Disney shows. |

Wish CR had a function for checking thread made by people and posts made by people in people's profiles, like most other forums have :P On-topic Maji de Watashi ni Koi Shinasai! 7/10 It was a fun watch. For an ecchi anime, there wasn't much fanservice :| A few panty shots, and I watched the uncensored version. |
