Name of Anime Say "I Love You"

Comment/Review Say "I Love You" is a romance, comedy-drama, slice of life series that runs for 13 episodes and has an additional 10 specials and 10 volumes of manga.

Story/Setting The story revolves around quiet and unassuming 16 year-old Mei Tachibana who has spent her high school years without making friends or getting a boyfriend because of a childhood incident that left her believing that people will betray each other sooner or later. When she encounters a popular boy named Yamato Kurosawa, Yamato becomes interested in her and it is through their tentative friendship and blossoming relationship that Mei ultimately begins to branch out and befriend others. This story may seem pretty generic for this type of anime, but it actually turned out to be VERY realistic, unlike most other animes like this one. All the situations put into it are situations that actually happen in real life and I like how the characters dealt with their issues because the way they act in them are also realistic and not exaggerated. Besides the series being very realistic, it was just a cute and sweet anime in general and I just loved how everything fit perfectly. I didn't think the series rushed at all for a 13 episode series and it was just basic and interesting.

Characters The majority of the female cast of Say "I Love You" were absolutely amazing. There wasn't a single female character I didn't like or a single one that I didn't relate to in some way. A couple of them did annoy me at first, but after learning their back story and how they ended up in the end, they also became amazing female characters like the rest. A majority of the male cast, however, didn't impress me one bit, except for Kai because like with the female cast, I related to him in some way. I adored all the female cast of this show and though I can see why the female cast may not be liked at all by others, I personally loved their bravery and how they overcame their problems realistically. Obviously, my favorite male character was Kai since I didn't like any of the other male characters, and my favorite female would have to be.....Mei and Megumi surprisingly. ^^"

Animation/Art The animation for Say "I Love You" was pretty decent. It wasn't anything special or the greatest animated anime ever, but it was pretty good for what it had. It also had its share of beautiful scenes, but other than that, it was only a little above average. The art style on the other hand was very good. I really like the design of all the characters, especially Yamato's and Mei's. The characters looked very appealing and well drawn.

Music The music was one of the best parts of the series. The opening was just so sweet and slow, perfect for the tone of the anime, and the ending was very heartfelt and had a faster pace than the opening, which was nice. What I really enjoyed was the little tune that played halfway through each episode. I just loved that tune for some reason!!!! ^^"

Flowers of Evil .

Comment / Review: start out dry but gets better. Its a dark and twisted, psychological, anime. There is no action way that most animes are but it more of a mind trip more than anything else.It very much like real life. Has all the makings of a good movie.

My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU

Comment / Review: LOVED all of the characters, the comedy, the serious moments, and was not bored on a single episode. This anime was a very pleasant surprise. Going in, the setting (such as two female characters with one male character in the middle) seemed like it would just be a rehash of what ALL rom com, slice-of-life anime do. However, the series quickly shows you in the first episode that isn't the case. The series is really, overall, an examination of the psychology that goes with the life of a teenager going through their adolescent years. The dialogue is witty, well-written in dramatic parts, and I never had a 'wtf' moment where the characters did something that made no sense. This is a very good show!

Michiko to Hatchin.

I was amazed I never heard of this anime before. It has action and comedy in the heart of a journey across jazzy Latin America. I found it delightfully original and interesting. True, the ending was patched but the path to it was so irresistible that I am so excited when it will come out in dub this Fall! It resembled two of my favorite anime: Samurai Champloo and Black Lagoon in both humor and action. This anime does have adult content; I would not recommend this to just anyone; only to people who like a good wholesome story about convicts, syndicates, and escape. ^_^

I was really attached on the different character developments even if that character wasn't the most important one in the series, they added in at a moderate backstory to attach you to all of the characters (I swear like 80% of the time in the competetions comprise of monologues) And it's interesting how they used the meaning of hundred poems to describe character emotions. And it's fun and interesting seeing how a simple sport can turn into a really competitive one with many unrealistically powerful contestants

I really enjoyed it. Believe it or not, this is one of those series that doesn't have a crazy rushed ending, though it could have ended in three different spots. Additionally, I liked the English voice acting better then the Japanese voice acting. I don't hardly ever say that. I spent the last few days after finishing it wishing that there was more. They do some crazy science stuff, but don't spend too much time trying to explain it so that it kills the mood of the series.
9.5/10
I definitely recommend it!
