Anime:School Rumble

Comment/Review: Well i don't think that this anime is for everyone but if you enjoy a school setting with random awesome comedy in it then it's for you. This anime is one of the best i seen in the fact that you really like the character's so much that you won't want it to ever end but like every good thing it must have a end. Anyways if you like comedy, romance, drama, a really good soundtrack and just lovable character's then this is the anime for you
Rating: 9 out of 10 (my opinion)
Recommend: Absolutely yes

Anime: Anohana The Flower We Saw That Day

Review: It's like a nuclear explosion right in the feels-zone. Had a movie release 8/31/2013 in Japan. I desperately need to see it.

Rating: Solid 10/10 an absolute must see. Wish I had seen it much sooner.

Just finished watching it today myself. I should've watched it long ago when I first watched the first episode. I don't know why I didn't continue watching it, I must've been watching something else and didn't want to balance two at a time. And I had always heard it was pretty intense, and wanted to actually dedicate myself to finishing it.

Watched it in 2 days lol. Saw the first 3 episodes, then marathoned the rest of it the next day.

Currently looking for the soundtrack, I think every track was good and it fit into the series perfectly. Would watch again, and probably react the same the second time.

To Love-Ru

Comment / Review: It's an ecchi harem. But it's not just any ecchi harem - it's the ecchi harem, for better or for worse.

Protagonist: Rito Yuuki, possibly the least smooth protagonist I've ever seen. Is both the luckiest and unluckiest person in the show. Has a habit of falling face-first into girls' cleavage or panties as often as possible. But of course, he is a genuinely cool guy when it counts. Thus, an alien/human harem is born. He also goes through subtle character development throughout the show that I think is surprisingly well done.

The Girls: I think the love interests are all pretty decent. None of them fall flat in my opinion. We've got: the shameless deredere alien main girl, the shy nice-girl human main girl, the imouto, the standard tsundere, the boisterous rich girl, the kuudere alien, the ghost-girl, the hot nurse/teacher alien, and more. It's all there for everyone to enjoy. None of the relationships are unnecessarily forced by the writers.

The Plot: The day-to-day plot is basically the same as most harems. Rito manages to accidentally fondle a girl and it all gets worse from there, etc. The plot driver is that the main alien girl, Lala, is essentially the princess of the entire universe. She and Rito become engaged due to a misunderstanding, and Rito is forced to face the responsibility of becoming the ruler of the universe. Thankfully, the overarching plot progresses slowly, and what we mainly get is the recurring chaos that happens because of Lala and her many faulty inventions.

What this all results in is a lot of room to make whatever kind of situation you want. There can be a lot of gag-humor, or you can have a laid back episode, or there can be surprisingly touching moments. The show I think resembles a lot of the best shounen shows in that respect. It's the best thing about the series.

The Plot: There's less of it than you would think in the first series, considering this is like the hallmark of ecchi harems. It is there, but don't watch this show expecting Queen's Blade. The show has an annoying tendency to leave lots of lingering steam even after being uncensored. The later series and OVA's fix this, though, if it's an issue for you.

I recently finished 2 more. I'll make these really quick.

Kuroko's Basketball

Comment / Review: It's everything great about shounen in the context of basketball. It's really good. I like the characters, the plot, the animation, and it even almost made me like basketball for once lol. If you like hot-blooded characters, basketball-centric almost-superpowers, and overly serious everything, then this is the show for you. And even if it's not, you'll probably still like it.

Saki

Comment / Review: So this is basically Kuroko's Basketball, where the character gender-ratios are reversed, and it's about mahjong instead of basketball. Pour on the lesbian subtext and dynamic 3D action shots (yes, for mahjong), and Saki is born. The show's biggest strength is the ability to make the most confusing game fun to watch. The tournaments are surprisingly engaging, considering I still know nothing about mahjong after having finished it. It's really entertaining and ridiculous, but I think the yuri ship-teasing finally started grating on me by the end of the show.

It was either Serial Experiments Lain or Highschool of the Dead, I believe. The former left a bigger impression on me than the latter since all I can remember were zombies and panty shots

I agree with True Goober, Kuroko no Basuke is like...the most fantastic sports anime ever.

Name of Anime: Knight in the Area
Comment / Review: This is a recent sports anime about soccer! It's about this guy named Kakeru who, because of past circumstances, no longer plays soccer. However, his brother is a genius soccer player, and things happen...

I thought it was interesting enough; it's not perfect, but it's engaging and makes you really want to watch the series. It's longer than most series, but at the end, I was still craving for more. The beginning was a bit dull until /that/ happened. What is /that/? Well, watch it to find out. It definitely through me in through a loop.

Valvrave the Liberator Season 1

Comment / Review: I'll keep this one short. This is a very confusing show. I'm not sure how to approach it. The first half of the series makes me think, "This would be awesome if I was 12." The second half makes me think, "This is awesome, but I would never show this to a twelve year old."

The action is awesome. The graphics are generally good, but the quality drops fast (360 looks pretty messy) thanks to the Aniplex master that Crunchyroll has. Some characters are cool, some are odd. The story is confusing, as I said, but only in a meta (who the crap was this show written for?) sense. The plot itself is pretty interesting was crap starts getting real.

All I can say it it's worth finishing.

Rating: 8/10 (6/10 for the first half, 10/10 for the second)

Reccomended: Yes

The Ambition of Oda Nobuna

Better than I thought it would be after the first episode. Confusing beginning because there is literally no set-up. However, once it gets rolling, it's fairly entertaining. Nothing special happens, except for our male harem master is not (GASP!) a totally bumbling idiot, but turns out to be pretty useful (although why they never thought to teach him how to fight is beyond me).

Cute, but generic romance between the two mains. And no kiss at the end. Geez.

I give it a 6/10 for not sucking, but nothing higher for being unoriginal in execution, although unique in concept.

Recommended: Basically a meh. Middle of the road, so you can either watch and be entertained for 6 hours or skip and not miss anything.

Name of Anime : Magi
Comment / Review: It's been a while so I don't remember the details but it's pretty good. The animation isn't that bad (those big teeth irk me a bit though). So far the story line is interesting, I look forward to Aladdin's growth (if he can still grow stronger).

Watamote episode 12. I doubt if there will be a second season although an OAV would be nice. Ending was satisfying enough given Tomoko's penchant for self-deprecation and social sabotage. Not exactly a carbon copy but I saw many similar patterns of behavior during my so-called rose-colored glories tolerating elementary and high school life.

Rating: 7.75/10. Some of the episodes are delightfully funny in their own dark sort of way; however, when later episodes lighten the levity and tackle the gravity of self-deprecation the show can get exponentially depressing very quickly if anyone can even remotely associate some of the main character's struggles with their own while growing up mastering social interaction.

Recommend: loved it, in spite of some of the gravity. Read the manga for the R 18+ humor, and it is funny, the anime didn't reveal.
